This role is ideal for individuals with strong WAF experience and a proven track record in security policy development and infrastructure as code (IaC) automation.\n\nKey Responsibilities :\n\n- Design, implement, and manage WAF security policies, with a primary focus on Cloudflare, to protect internet-facing applications.\n\n- Continuously refine and improve WAF rules and policies, standardizing operational practices and creating detailed documentation.\n\n- Provide L3 level support for operational issues, troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.\n\n- Employ infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tooling, particularly Terraform, to automate the provisioning and management of configurations.\n\n- Conduct in-depth analyses of web traffic patterns and security logs to identify and mitigate potential threats.\n\n- Collaborate with application teams to ensure WAF policies align with security requirements and best practices.\n\n- Stay current with emerging web application threats and adjust WAF policies accordingly.\n\nQualifications :\n\n- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Web Application Security, with a significant focus on security policy management.\n\n- Extensive experience with Cloudflare WAF, including writing and tuning security policies.\n\n- Experience with Custom WAF rules such as Firewall Rules, Rate Limiting, Bot Management, Managed Rules.\n\n- Deeper understanding of performance considerations for an internet facing site such as latency, caching strategies, HTTP/2, and TLS 1.3.\n\n- Strong knowledge of web application security concepts, common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10), and attack vectors (DDoS).\n\n- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code, particularly Terraform.\n\n- Experience with log / data analysis and SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk).\n\n- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks.\n\n- Experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their native security services.\n\n- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).\n\n- Understanding of network protocols and web technologies (HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, DNS).\n\nSoft Skills :\n\n- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\n- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in policy writing and configuration.\n\n- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.\n\n- Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks.\n\n- Adaptability and continuous learning to keep up with evolving threats and technologies.\n\n- Experience in managing stakeholder expectations and collaborating with cross-functional teams.\n\n- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.\n\nSkills\nCloudflare, WAF, Terraform, Security, Splunk, Python, Bash Scripting, AWS, Applications Security, SIEM","description_format":"text","description_chars":3174,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Continuous learning"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["IT Consulting & Digital Transformation","IT Outsourcing & Dedicated Teams","Custom Software Development"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-25T18:04:06Z"}],"liveness":{"score":66,"band":"ok","label":"Likely open","p_open":0.85,"p_active":0.859,"p_room":0.9,"age_days":14,"expected_fill_days":24,"reasons":["seen:14","urgency","velocity","win:mid"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/tanisha-systems-web-application-firewall-security-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/tanisha-systems-web-application-firewall-security-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-01T18:18:38Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"search","counted_by":"address","units_charged":0,"used_today":0,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":null,"resets_at":"2026-10-02T00:00:00Z"}}}
