The Food & Beverage team enables a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is fresh, in stock, available and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. They are experts of operations, process and efficiency. This team leads food and food services including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all Food &Beverage areas of the store.

• Guest service fundamentals and experience building a guest first culture in food

• Build guest relationships and convert interactions into sales through sampling, special orders and creating unique designs

• Building in cake anddessert trends including:seasonality, guest preference, and flavor

• Monitoring sales of products and adjusting production to drive efficiency, profitability and minimize waste

• Cake decorating fundamentals

As aCake Decorator , no two daysare ever the same, but a typical day will most likely includethe following responsibilities:

• Deliver an exceptional guest experience, providing a fresh and abundant shopping experience during all hours of operations, prioritizing the guest’s needs over task.

• Execute Food &Beverage processes,including food deliveries, replenishment, straightening merchandise, instocksroutines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning,signingand organizing and storing reserve product.

• Engage with guests to captureand fulfilltheir customized cake order.

• Uphold and maintainthe execution of the Food &Beverage Standards

• Produce, package and label items to specifications on production cards and follow specific department routines to drive sales, instocksand profitability.

• Prep, iceand decorate cakes and cupcakes to place on the salesfloor that are seasonally relevant and follow production card specifications.

• Follow all food safety requirements, including monitoring and recording temperature sensitive food items, asoutlined inTarget’s policies and procedures.

• Locate and identifydamaged, recalledor expired items and process according to Target’s policies and procedures.

• Use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales.

• Follow proper perishable inventory procedures to ensure an accuraterecording of inventory.

• Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the totalstore, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guestand improve their experience.

• Appropriately use and care for in-store and personal protective equipment; follow equipment control guidelines.

• Always demonstratea culture of ethical conduct, safetyand compliance

• Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.

• Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up (OPU) and Drive-up (DU) and maintaina compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.

• When guests need assistance, engage with guests in a welcoming way, to help solve their specific needs.

• Thankguestsand let them know we’rehappy they chose to shop at Target.

• You are open to working a flexible work schedule with varying hours, daysor shifts (including nights, weekends, holidaysand other peak shopping times).

The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything you need to know to be a Cake Decorator. But,there are a few skills you should have from the get-go:

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older

• Previous cake decorating experience preferred, but not required

• Artistic skills to design and execute custom high levelcake decorating

• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members

• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.

• Work both independently and with a team

• Resolve guest questions quickly

• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

• Accurately handle cash register operationsas needed

• Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44pounds

• Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays)reliable and prompt attendance necessary

• Ability to work in an environment that could range from 34°F to -10°Fas needed

• Ability to work in spaces where common allergens may be handled or present

• Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-Up, carryout, etc.

• Ability to remainmobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary)
