ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE

Experts ofstore processand efficiency whoenable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring productis set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment,and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM)areas of the store. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and maintenanceand pricing processes for all areas of the store.Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests bysupportingpick, packand ship fulfillment work.

• Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest first culture across the store

• Experience in retail business fundamentalsincluding:department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement

• Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals

As a General Merchandise Expert, no two daysare ever the same, but a typical day will most likely includethe following responsibilities:

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.

• When guests need assistance, engage with guests in a welcoming way, to help solve their specific needs.

• Thank guestsand let them know we’rehappy they chose to shop at Target.

• Execute daily tasks assigned to you by your leader to help achieve goals that align with business prioritiesincluding receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.

• If certified operatepower equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures.

• Execute processes includingchanging prices to products, merchandise set-up and maintenance, and inventory accuracyas directed by your leader for all areas.

• Learn how operational procedures, such as setting up and organizing merchandise, managing product stock levels, and maintainingsales floor areas, affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.

• Be knowledgeable about the resources, products, and services available in the totalstore, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guestand improve their experience.

• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safetyand compliance.

• Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.

• Support guest services such as back-up cashier,and digital fulfillment processes(such as pickingand packing orders or deliveringpickup orders to guests) andmaintaincomplianceculture while executing those duties, such as federal, state, and local adult beveragelaws.

• All other duties based on business needs

The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything you need to know to be a General Merchandise Expert. But,there are a few skills you should have from the get-go:

• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members

• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operatehandheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed

• Work both independently and with a team

• Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot

• Attention to detail and followamulti-step processes

• Capability to remainfocused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplishmultiple tasks within established timeframes

• Accurately handle cash register operationsas needed

• Climb up and down ladders

• Scan, handleand move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequentlylifting or moving merchandise up to 44pounds withoutadditionalassistance from others.

• Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekendsand holidays) reliable and prompt attendance necessary

• Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-Up, carryout, etc.

• Ability to remainmobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary)
