Learn more about Target here.\nThe Senior Security Specialist serves as the first line of defence for security-related communications received by the organisation on the generic security mailbox. The role performs advanced investigations of the security related communications, drives process improvement initiatives and serves as a primary escalation point for the complex mailbox related security incidents. \nThe Senior analyst performs initial threat assessments, validates suspicious activity, identifies phishing attempts, investigates suspicious emails and attachments, and escalates security incidents to appropriate cybersecurity teams. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, customer service focus, and adherence to established security procedures and service levels.\nThe Senior Analyst also plays a critical role in mentoring analysts, ensuring quality assurance, developing operating procedures, and driving operational excellence.\nKey Responsibilities\nMailbox Monitoring & Triage\nContinuously monitor Target’s primary security mailbox and take necessary actions on the incoming emails according to the severity.\nInvestigate and handle the initial escalations that have been raised from the security mailbox incidents and issues.\nAct as a primary coordinator between various stake holders and the Triage to handle the incidents and issues that have been called out.\nReview incoming submissions and alerts. Review the incoming alerts and submissions and allocate / take action accordingly.\nFor any periodic security reports, channelize them or guide them in the right direction.\nPrioritise requests based on risk and severity from the generic security mailbox.\nEnsure adherence to response SLA’s that could vary according to the severity of the email.\nThe role would involve initial screening, categorization, routing, and deeper investigation of the emails in the security mailbox.\nSecurity Analysis\nAnalyse phishing submissions that have been performed.\nInvestigate suspicious email activity.\nPerform a root cause analysis for the serious issues that have been triggered through the mailbox.\nSupport and coordinate with the stakeholder teams to contain the threats.\nReview suspicious links and domains that are part of the emails and take appropriate action.\nAssess suspicious attachments and take action or inform the right security teams to take action.\nValidate reported security concerns by involving the teams within security and initiate an action on the concerns.\nIdentify indicators of compromise (IOCs) that may affect Target.\nEnsure accurate documentation of serious cases and drive it for closure.\nRespond to security-related inquiries.\nEducate users on security best practices.\nProvide clear guidance to reporters.\nMaintain professional communication standards.\nEscalate incidents according to severity.\nCoordinate with Cyber Defence teams.\nEngage Incident Response teams when required.\nEnsure critical incidents receive immediate attention.\nContribute to knowledge articles.\nIdentify recurring attack patterns.\nRecommend process improvements.\nParticipate in team training activities.\nExperience in MS Office 365/ Security + / Certified SOC Analyst\nSecurity Knowledge\nEmail security fundamentals, basic knowledge of fundamentals of security associated threats through emails.\nPhishing techniques used against organization and knowledge how to handle it and take action on those phishing attempts.\nMalware fundamentals and Social engineering attacks.\nLooking for someone with analytical thinking and good communication skills with ownership and accountability.\nExperience\nPreferred\n3-4 years of cybersecurity experience\nExperience in SOC or security operations or security mailbox management for a large organization.\nExperience handling phishing and security investigations is preferred\nWorked heavily towards metrics/SOP/KPI’s in a large team and focussing on results.\nKnow More About Us here:\nLife
