ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE

Experts ofoperations, processand efficiency;whoenable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring productis set, instock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricingand promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM)areas of the store. This team leads Food & Beverage and Food Service, providing a fresh and food safe experience. Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by owning pick, packand ship fulfillment work.

  • Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest first culture across the store

  • Experience in retail business fundamentalsincluding:department sales trends, inventory management, process efficiency and improvement

  • Experience executingthedaily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals

As a Reverse LogsiticsExpert,no two daysare ever the same, but a typical day will most likely includethe following responsibilities:

  • Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the totalstore, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guestand improve their experience.

  • Receive deliveriesusing the receive applicationand process all inbound store transfersto ensure inventory accuracy.

  • Responsible for ensuring Direct to Store Deliveries (DSD) and Advance Direct to Store Deliveries (ADSD) are accurately received following the outlined processes.

  • Follow up daily to ensure all unacknowledged deliveries have been received.

  • Accurately handle all freight shipments related paperwork; make shipping arrangements when necessary.

  • Execute donations, Central Return Center (CRC), electronics recycling, transfer orders (store to store and sweeps), salvage and inventory removals (IRs) are in compliance withall DOT regulations and best methods.

  • Identifyand handle environmentally sensitive item management (ESIM) in the reverse logisticsarea in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Complete the ESIM weekly log.

  • Process vendor credits and damaged/defective items accurately and in a timely mannerto minimize shortage and compliance risk; handle merchandise returns according to company and vendor guidelines.

  • Responsible for maintainingall invoices and documentation per record retention guidelines pertaining todeliveries, ESIM waste pickups and all outbound shipments.

  • Operate powered equipment as necessary while unloading freight or moving merchandise.

  • Demonstrate a culture of ethicalconduct, safetyand compliance.

  • Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.

  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up (OPU) and Driveup (DU)and maintaina compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local adult beveragelaws.

  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.

  • When guests need assistance, engage with guests in a welcoming way, to help solve their specific needs.

  • Thank guestsand let them know we’rehappy they chose to shop at Target.

  • All other duties based on business needs

The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything you need to know to be a Reverse Logistics Expert. But,there are a few skills you should have from the get-go:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

  • Previousreceiving or reverse logisticsexperience preferred, but not required

  • Welcoming and helpful attitude towardallguests and other team members

  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operatehandheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed

  • Work both independently and with a team

  • Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot

  • Attention to detail and followamulti-step processes

  • Capability to remainfocused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplishmultiple tasks within established timeframes

  • Scan, handleand move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequentlylifting or moving merchandise up to 44pounds

  • Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-Up, carryout, etc.

  • Ability to remainmobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary)
