It’s how we care, grow, and win together.\nPRIMARY FUNCTION:\nThe Sr. Engineer works under the supervision of Sr. Manager to support, learn building engineering system design and store design team programs including design of facilities and remodel efforts, sustainability programs, innovation, and existing facilities support. Participate in the strategic growth of Structural engineering department to support the design, construction Drive collaboration and deliver optimized programmatic technical/engineering solutions that fulfil Target’s goals and objectives. Partner with internal teams, to assure the successful completion of all Engineering programs including design of new facilities and remodel efforts, sustainability programs and facilities support. Provide technical team leadership and brand management of the Target Engineering department through the implementation of Target culture and values\nPRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSBLITIES\nApply engineering principles in projects or processes related to building engineered systems.\nPerform structural analysis and design for new retail buildings, store renovations, expansions, remodels, and tenant improvement projects.\nDesign and review structural steel framing systems, including beams, columns, joists, trusses, braced frames, moment frames, connections, and miscellaneous steel.\nEvaluate existing buildings and determine structural requirements for store modifications, openings, equipment installations, rooftop units, signage, canopies, façade systems, and other retail-related improvements.\nDesign structural modifications, strengthening, reinforcement, and retrofit solutions for existing steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures.\nReview architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and equipment drawings to identify structural impacts and coordination requirements.\nProvide structural solutions for rooftop mechanical equipment, RTUs, condensers, solar systems, suspended equipment, conveyors, storage systems, and other imposed loads.\nPrepare structural calculations, design criteria, sketches, specifications, reports, and construction documents.\nReview structural steel shop drawings, connection details, fabrication drawings, RFIs, submittals, and contractor proposals.\nCoordinate with architects, contractors, fabricators, vendors, consultants, and internal project teams throughout design and construction.\nPerform structural site assessments and field investigations of existing retail facilities.\nReview field conditions and develop practical engineering solutions for unforeseen construction issues.\nEnsure structural designs comply with applicable building codes, design standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.\nProvide technical guidance and mentoring to junior structural engineers and designers.\nPerform quality control reviews of structural calculations and construction documents.\nSupport project managers in developing scope, schedules, engineering estimates, and resource requirements.\nParticipate in design review meetings, coordination meetings, and construction issue resolution.\nManage multiple retail projects simultaneously while meeting aggressive design and construction schedules.\nINTERPERSONAL SKILLS:\nAbility to communicate across varying resources without compromising the integrity of the message.\nAbility to work well with team members regardless of level or technical background.\nAbility to synthesize complex information from a variety of sources and use that information to make informed decisions.\nAbility to approach problems with curiosity and open-mindedness and take appropriate partners to achieve solutions.\nAbility and desire to seek out technical training opportunities to increase skills.\nAbility to champion ideas with confidence ensures that difficult problems are addressed.\nLEADERSHIP SKILLS:\nAbility to accept responsibility for one’s own actions and to demonstrate a high level of consistency between words and actions.\nAbility to seek creative solutions and overcome obstacles to provide optimized engineering solutions.\nAbility to resolve routine problems independently and consistently achieve work objectives.\nAbility to handle many projects simultaneously and effectively utilize available resources to complete required assignments.\n TECHNICAL AND SOFTWARE SKILLS:\nCandidates should have worked knowledge of applicable standards and codes such as:\nInternational Building Code (IBC)\nASCE 7\nAISC Steel Construction Manual\nAISC 360 -
