Tufting Operator - Hospitality
Shift: Night Shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM | Sunday - Wednesday
Position Summary
Tarkett is seeking a Tufting Operator, to join our Hospitality manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate cut pile tufting machines, monitor product quality throughout production runs, and help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. This is a hands-on position well suited to candidates who take pride in precision work and want to build a long-term career in manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate cut pile tufting machines, including threading and replacing needles, replacing cutting blades, aligning the cutting blade block, hook replacement, backing changes, roll tickets, and doffing.
- Repair yarn breaks in creels and beams using an air splicer.
- Complete machine setup checks, including the production checklist, deck board, and backing verification.
- Perform quality inspections during production runs and coordinate with the mender to repair voids in carpet as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-ordered work area.
- Follow all company and regulatory safety and environmental guidelines, including wearing required personal protective equipment, using approved tools and equipment, and applying safe work practices for each task.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Ability to read and write in standard English.
- Proficiency in basic math, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to read and interpret graphic patterns.
- Ability to bend, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to remain on your feet for the duration of a 12-hour shift in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience operating cut pile tufting machines preferred.
