Responsible for regulatory compliance, program development, policy implementation, departmental leadership, and enterprise risk mitigation efforts across the institution.\nThis is an in-office position located on Tarleton State’s main campus in Stephenville, Texas.\nSchedule & Availability: The standard working hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, occasional evening and weekend hours will be required to provide hands-on support for university events and campus programming. Serves as Campus Security Authority\nResponsibilities:\nProgram Leadership and Compliance Oversight\nDevelop, implement, evaluate, and continuously improve university-wide risk management and safety programs.\nInterpret and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, Texas A&M University System, and university regulations and requirements.\nEstablish departmental goals, priorities, policies, procedures, and performance measures.\nLead compliance reviews, corrective action initiatives, and enterprise risk mitigation efforts.\nMonitor changes in regulatory requirements and implement program modifications as necessary.\nEnvironmental Health and Safety Management\nDirect environmental health and safety programs including hazardous waste management, asbestos management, lead-based paint compliance, chemical safety, industrial hygiene, and indoor air quality.\nProvide oversight and guidance for environmental and safety-related projects including renovations, fire protection systems, and remediation activities.\nManage external audits, assessments, and inspections conducted by regulatory agencies and consultants.\nEmergency Management and Business Continuity\nMaintain and oversee the university Emergency Operations Plan and Incident Action Plans.\nServe as the primary institutional liaison with emergency response agencies, governmental entities, and Texas A&M University System partners.\nDirect emergency preparedness, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning efforts.\nProvide leadership and coordination during emergency incidents and continuity events.\nRisk Management and Insurance Administration\nDirect insurance strategy, procurement, claims administration, and coordination with Texas A&M University System Risk Management.\nEvaluate institutional risks and recommend appropriate risk financing and insurance solutions.\nReview major risk exposures, claims trends, and loss prevention opportunities.\nOversee enterprise risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.\nDepartment Leadership\nSupervise departmental personnel and direct departmental operations.\nEstablish work priorities, allocate resources, and evaluate staff performance.\nProvide guidance and leadership for safety, risk, and compliance initiatives across the university.\nRepresent the department on institutional committees and strategic initiatives.\nMinimum Qualifications\nRequired Education and Experience:\nBachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Public Administration, Emergency Management, or other applicable field.\nFive years of related experience in administration, program management, risk and compliance or related field\nCompensation & Benefits\nSalary: Commensurate with experience\nSalary Range:\nThe target base annual salary range is $53,745 up to $76,321 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.\nWe are proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time and qualifying part-time employees.
