Helping restaurants thrive, not just survive.\nWhat we’re looking for\nWe are looking for a Data Engineer to help build and scale Tarro’s data infrastructure as we continue to expand our product portfolio and customer base. You’ll play a foundational role in shaping how data is collected, modeled, validated, and consumed across the company.\nThis is a high-impact opportunity to work in a fast-paced, profitable startup where you’ll have real ownership, move quickly, and see your work directly influence product and business outcomes. \n\nWhat you’ll accomplish\nYou will build and evolve Tarro’s core data infrastructure and foundational datasets\n\nYou will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines that support analytics, machine learning, experimentation, and product use cases\n\nYou will ensure data quality and reliability by implementing audits, alerting, and anomaly detection at scale\n\nYou will partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver trusted, actionable data\n\nYou will contribute to shared data engineering tooling, standards, and best practices to improve team productivity and output quality\n\nYou will help establish long-term data architecture that scales with Tarro’s growth\n\nAbout You\nYou have 5+ years of experience building and operating production-grade data pipelines\n\nYou have a strong understanding of scalable, performant data modeling patterns across structured and unstructured data sources\n\nYou have a proven ability to work cross-functionally to design data architectures that support analytics, machine learning, and experimentation\n\nYou have experience building and operating fault-tolerant, distributed systems\n\nYou have hands-on experience working in a cloud environment such as AWS or GCP\n\nYou are a self-starter who thrives in an environment with high ownership, limited process, and lots of autonomy\n\nYou care deeply about building reliable systems that solve real customer and business problems\n\nBonus Points\nYou have experience in a consumer driven industry with a passion for the customer.\n\nYou have a BS / MS / PhD in Computer Science or a related field\n\nYou have experience with analytics and BI tools such as Looker or Tableau\n\nYou have prior experience building data platforms or products from 0 to 1 in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment\n\nYou have a roll up your sleeves mentality with current or prior experience working in a fast paced, collaborative, highly ambiguous environment frequently wearing more than one hat.\n\nIf you do not meet all the requirements listed above which candidates rarely do, don't worry.
