This is a full time opportunity.\nOverview\nAs a mechanic, your role is influential to the organizations ability to continue to keep communities safe and clean.\nAs a mechanic you will perform maintenance work and truck repairs in accordance with factory and industry standards. The qualified candidate will run diagnostics on vehicles, communicate and work closely with team members to meet company goals.\nCOMPETENCIES/SKILLS\nGood problem-solving skills to address unexpected issues\nDesire to work as a team, while helping and interacting respectfully with each other\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nGeneral inspection of vehicles, trailers, equipment, Run and analysis diagnostic testing, minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers.\nConduct regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspections, tire rotations and oil changes.\nKnowledge and understanding of ABS systems, suspension, steering, leaks, wheel alignment and balancing, electrical systems.\nInspect and replace bearings, lights, breaks, coolant.\nMaintain parts inventory, requesting purchase orders for ordering of parts and necessary items,\nCollaborate with team in diagnosing problems with vehicles and plan repairs.\nMaintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles.\nCoordinating with external repair shops\nOther duties as assigned\nRequirements\nQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disability to perform the essential functions.\nMust be able to have weekend rotations. \nMust have mechanical tools\nEDUCATION REQUIRMENTS\nMinimum of 2 years of experience preferably in diesel mechanic. \nShould have a valid Class B driver’s license, Class A is a plus. \nTWIC card preferred.\nASE Diesel Certification is preferred. \nPHYSICAL/ MENTAL REQUIREMENTS\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing at times. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 50 pounds. Must be able to frequently climb stairs and ladders. May occasionally deal with heights. Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, employees and managers. Effective conflict resolution abilities. Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form. Ability to read, write and do mathematics. Ability to wear Personal Equipment, including Respiratory Protection. Consist of both office setting and physical jobsite.
