If you love driving, technology, and delivering great experiences, you’ll fit right in.\nRole Overview (Onsite in San Francisco, CA)\nWe are seeking a reliable, tech-conscious Drivers - Data Collection to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in gathering real-world mapping and sensor data used to advance autonomous vehicle and spatial mapping technologies.\nYou will operate fleet vehicles as an active driver on a major rideshare platform-accepting passenger trips via the app-while ensuring that mounted data collection systems (including high-definition cameras and LiDAR sensors) run continuously and accurately along your routes.\nKey Responsibilities\nPassenger Operations: Accept, navigate, and complete real-world passenger rides via a designated rideshare application, providing a safe, professional, and comfortable customer experience.\n\nData System Management: Ensure all vehicle data collection technology-including LiDAR, cameras, and data loggers-is powered on, calibrated, and actively capturing data during all operational hours.\n\nPre/Post-Trip Checks: Conduct routine checks on sensor mounts, camera lenses, and recording hardware before and after each shift to maintain optimal data quality.\n\nSystem Monitoring & Escalation: Monitor hardware and software status displays while driving; immediately document and report hardware errors, sensor disruptions, or software bugs to the operations team.\n\nSafety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all local traffic laws, TaskUs safety protocols, and rideshare platform guidelines at all times.\n\nBasic Qualifications\nValid Driver’s License: Active US driver’s license with a clean driving record (must meet standard rideshare driver eligibility requirements).\n\nDriving Experience: Minimum of 3 years of licensed driving experience (prior rideshare, taxi, or delivery experience is a strong plus).\n\nTech-Savvy: Comfortable operating touchscreen interfaces, following technical troubleshooting checklists, and working around onboard hardware/sensors.\n\nCustomer Service Focus: Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, friendly demeanor when interacting with passengers.\n\nAdaptability: Comfortable driving in diverse traffic conditions, weather, and light levels.\n\nPhysical Demands & Work Environment\nProlonged periods of driving and sitting inside a vehicle (up to 8 hours per shift).\n\nOccasional lifting or moving of light calibration equipment and checking exterior sensor mounts.\n\nHow We Partner To Protect You: TaskUs will neither solicit money from you during your application process nor require any form of payment in order to proceed with your application.
