This position is responsible for collecting and verifying payroll data, maintaining employee payroll records, processing payroll transactions, assisting with benefit deductions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to employees. The Payroll Coordinator also assists with payroll reporting, audits, year-end processing, and special projects while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.\nWhat you'll do\nCollect, review, and verify employee timekeeping records to ensure accurate payroll processing\nReview timecards for completeness and accuracy, following up with managers and employees to resolve missing or incorrect information\nAssist with processing biweekly or semi-monthly payrolls using Paylocity\nCalculate wages, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, retroactive pay, and other payroll adjustments as directed\nProcess employee payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, direct deposit updates, and tax withholding elections\nVerify payroll deductions, including health insurance, retirement plans, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Savings Accounts (HSA), garnishments, and other voluntary deductions\nReconcile payroll registers and reports prior to payroll submission to ensure accuracy\nResearch and resolve payroll discrepancies, overpayments, underpayments, and employee questions in a timely manner\nMaintain accurate and confidential employee payroll records in Paylocity and related systems\nPrepare and distribute payroll reports to the Accounting and Finance teams for reconciliation and financial reporting\nAssist with payroll journal entries and reconciliation requests as needed\nPrepare year-end payroll documentation, including W-2 processing and payroll tax support\nAssist with payroll tax notices and provide documentation when requested\nSupport internal and external payroll audits by gathering reports and required documentation\nAssist with payroll compliance by following applicable federal, state, and local wage and hour laws\nRespond professionally to employee inquiries regarding paychecks, taxes, deductions, direct deposit, PTO balances, and payroll policies\nAssist the Payroll Manager with payroll system testing, upgrades, and implementation of new payroll processes\nMaintain payroll calendars and ensure payroll deadlines are consistently met\nRecommend process improvements that enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency\nPerform special projects and other duties as assigned\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent and Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred\nOne to three years of payroll, accounting, finance, or administrative experience required\nExperience using Paylocity or a similar payroll/HRIS system required\nWorking understanding of payroll processing, payroll taxes, wage and hour laws, and employee benefits deductions\nIntermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and basic reporting\nExperience working with confidential employee information and a proven track record of professionalism\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience processing multi-state payroll\nFamiliarity with payroll tax reporting and year-end processing\nKnowledge of wage garnishments, benefit deductions, and paid leave programs\nExperience supporting payroll audits and compliance initiatives\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nStrong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy\nExcellent organizational and time management skills\nAbility to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nExcellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills\nAbility to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with Human Resources, Finance, and department managers\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nCompany Perks + Benefits:\nPerformance Bonuses \nStock Purchase Options \nMedical/Vision/Dental Benefits \n401k Plan \n20 Paid Vacation Days (plus an additional paid vacation day the month of your birthday!) \n10 Paid Sick Days \nGym Membership Reimbursement \nCommuter Benefits \nPet Insurance \nWellness & Mental Health Programs \nCharitable Donation Matching \nTwo Paid Volunteer Days Off \nDaily catered lunch when in the office \nFull kitchen with snacks and beverages \nIn-building gym \nShuttle to/from Metra \nDiscretionary Performance Bonus: 5-10% of base salary based on individual and company performance.\nSalary Range: $59,000-$75,000\nAbout IGNA + tasty\nIG North America is home to tastytrade, tastylive, and tastyfx-a family of brands built to democratize trading and empower individual investors.
