This role is responsible for supervising machinists and shop personnel, ensuring production schedules are met, maintaining high quality standards, promoting a safe work environment, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong machining knowledge, excellent people management skills, and experience operating in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing and repair environment.\nResponsibilities\nSupervise and coordinate daily activities of machinists, CNC operators, manual machinists, saw/shear operators and shop support personnel. \nDesign, fabricate and maintain in house tooling and fixtures. \nAssign work based on production priorities, employee skillsets, and customer delivery requirements. \nMonitor workflow, productivity, quality, and schedule attainment to ensure operational objectives are met. \nTrain, mentor, and develop team members while promoting accountability and performance excellence. \nEnsure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, quality procedures, and aerospace industry requirements. \nReview and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, specifications, and repair documentation. \nCoordinate with Engineering, Quality, Planning, Supply Chain, and Production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve efficiency. \nSupport troubleshooting of machining processes, tooling challenges, equipment issues, and workflow bottlenecks. \nMonitor machine utilization, setup times, scrap rates, and labor efficiency metrics. \nConduct performance evaluations, coaching discussions, and disciplinary actions as needed. \nPromote lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the department. \nAssist with capacity planning, scheduling, staffing, and overtime management. \nEnsure all equipment is properly maintained and operational. \nParticipate in audits, corrective actions, root cause investigations, and process improvement activities.\nRequirements\nHigh school diploma or GED. \n5+ years of machine shop experience, preferably in aerospace, manufacturing, MRO, or precision machining environments. \n2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience. \nExperience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies preferred.\nKnowledge of AS9100, ISO quality standards, and repair station requirements.\nTechnical degree, machining certification, or journeyman-level machining background preferred.\nStrong knowledge of CNC machining operations, manual machining processes, tooling, and shop equipment. \nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. \nExperience with manufacturing quality systems and inspection requirements. \nStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. \nProficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing software systems.\nBenefits\nTAT Technologies is dedicated to providing an inclusive, fun, and unique workplace.
