With a highly skilled workforce supporting customers from coast to coast, TCS has consistently been recognized as a Top Employer by the Top Employers Institute, including a recent top ranking at the country level.\nTCS also sponsors 14 of the world's most prestigious marathons and endurance events, including the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon, reflecting its commitment to health, sustainability, and community empowerment.\nJob Description :-\nRole and Responsibilities\nCollaborate with application development teams on data modeling, schema design, and deployment of complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, triggers, and views.\nAnalyze execution plans, perform SQL query tuning, and optimize index structures to eliminate bottlenecks in high-throughput transactional environments.\nLead database release automation, code reviews, and schema migrations across development, staging, and production environments.\nMonitor database application health, identify lock contention, resolve deadlocks, and troubleshoot latency issues.\nPartner with infrastructure and cloud teams to design, test, and execute on-premises to AWS cloud database migrations.\nParticipate in database capacity planning, failover drills, and disaster recovery design.\nSupport production deployment and other maintenance activities over weekend and “after office” hours on weekdays as needed.\n“Mandatory” Skills:\nSenior years of experience in Oracle Database Administration\nOracle Application DBA Expertise: good years specializing in Oracle Database (12c/19c+) application support, advanced PL/SQL programming, execution plan analysis, and performance diagnostics (AWR, ASH, ADDM).\nAWS & Cloud Databases: Practical experience administering managed database services including Amazon RDS (Oracle/PostgreSQL) and Amazon Aurora.\nPostgreSQL: Hands-on working knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, schema design, and performance optimization.\nCloud Migration Experience: Strong, proven track record of migrating on-premises databas es to AWS environments (using tools such as AWS DMS, SCT, or native utilities).\nCollaboration & Release Management: Solid background in CI/CD integration for database deployments and working alongside Agile engineering teams.\nAbility to work with offshore teams for maintenance and production support activities\n“NICE TO HAVE” skills\nExperience with Oracle Exadata administration and performance tuning features (Smart Scan, Hybrid Columnar Compression).\nProficiency in shell scripting (Bash) and automation using Python.\nRelevant AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty) or Oracle certifications\nTata Consultancy Services Canada Inc. is committed to meeting the accessibility needs of all individuals in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC).
