Our diverse and inclusive workforce allows for all employees to feel valued and safe to give their opinions and improve our company.\nTata Consulting Engineers USA, LLC, (TCE), is a multi-disciplinary engineering organization offering a full range of integrated engineering design, project support, procurement and construction management services to the energy and chemicals industries.\nPosition Summary\nProviding Instrumentation Designer support to the Houston, Baton rouge and Mid America team.\nPerforms routine to difficult design assignments, which require knowledge and skill in basic instrument design techniques, procedures, knowledge of applicable industry standards, and instrument industry standards. Supervises junior design personnel. Assignments are designed to further develop the incumbent’s job knowledge and abilities.\nResponsibilities\n10+ years experience in chemical/petrochemical/refinery Industry.\nExperience coordinating with instrumentation vendors and soliciting pricing.\nFamiliarity with DCS systems.\nDevelops typical instrument/controls deliverables for FEL 2, FEL3 and Detail Design projects.\nPrepares design man-hour estimates for new projects and changes in design.\nReviews the work of other designers and drafters.\nAssures project and company procedures are followed.\nMay utilize information from vendor prints, catalogs, technical manuals, etc. to do design work.\nMentors less experienced designers.\nAbility to coordinate with all TCE offices in the US and abroad to complete work in a timely and efficient manner.\nPosition will work closely with electrical engineering staff, project management staff and instrumentation discipline head as a key lead resource.\nUses time efficiently.\nSensitive to schedule requirements.\nKeeps supervisor informed of progress.\nQuality assurance for personal work assignments.\nVisits vendor facilities to inspect equipment for compliance with requirements.\nVisits jobsites to evaluate site, project requirements, and conditions.\nAbility to make field visits, walk down, etc.\nQualifications\nMinimum of 10 years instrument design experience in the refining and chemical industries.\nExperience in design of small and mid size instrument projects.\nAutoCAD experience\nKnowledge of the NEC.\nExperience in the consulting engineering industry.\nTWIC Card or ability to obtain a TWIC card is preferred.\nEducation Requirements\nRelevant technical training.\nEEO Statement\nTata Consulting Engineers USA, LLC (“TCE”) is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in our workplace.
