What you will do

As a Project Engineer, you will create project plans and proposals that will support and improve our business. You’ll oversee all stages of projects that are assigned to you, from initial concept, through execution to final acceptance, ensuring all work meets the relevant standards and guidelines from a design, safety and environmental standpoint. You will support by drafting technical specifications and requests for quotations from OEMs and contractor partners.

Your role involves the overseeing of project engineering activities to ensure the area you are responsible for is completed on time and to budget, safely and to the designed standard. Problem-solving and liaising with internal and external stakeholders is critical to your success.

In addition, you will support the delivery of electrical engineering activities throughout the full project lifecycle, including detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up and handover. You will review electrical designs, specifications and technical documentation, support the management of contractors and OEM partners, monitor construction progress and contribute to pre-commissioning and commissioning activities. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will help ensure electrical systems are delivered safely, efficiently and in compliance with relevant standards, regulations and project requirements.

A solid understanding of project management techniques, risk assessment, and safety study methods is ideal, however, individuals who are successful will be expected to develop themselves and training will be provided. Excellent communication skills are crucial, as you will represent the business externally and act as a company ambassador.

A high level of engineering competency in Electrical disciplines is expected. You should also have excellent time management, problem solving and analytical abilities.

Experience with Low Voltage (LV) power distribution systems, Motor Control Centres (MCCs), Power Control Centres (PCCs), Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), motors and industrial electrical systems would be advantageous.
