Our diverse and inclusive workforce allows for all employees to feel valued and safe to give their opinions and improve our company.\nTata Consulting Engineers USA, LLC, (TCE), is a multi-disciplinary engineering organization offering a full range of integrated engineering design, project support, procurement and construction management services to the energy and chemicals industries.\nPosition Summary\nThe purpose of the Controls Systems Engineer is to improve refinery safety, operations, and profitability through the design, implementation and maintenance of control systems and supervisory control systems.\nResponsibilities\nManages, coordinates and designs or assists in design of control related projects. Projects involve:\nSpecification, purchase and maintenance of various systems, computers, networking and/or peripheral equipment.\nDesign of controls or approval of contractor's design.\nCoordination with instrumentation engineers on instrument hardware and configuration required for control and commissioning of refinery controls.\nCoordination with operators on control design and implementation.\nManages projects to control budget and schedule as planned.\nSpecifies instrumentation and PLC’s or selects vendors to provide the best solution to a problem or project.\nDevelops plans for future control work and associated computer systems, equipment and software based on economics and necessity.\nDevelops plans for future instrumentation and analyzer upgrades.\nStays abreast of technology in control and computer hardware/software to effectively plan for future projects and upgrade of equipment.\nResponsible for updating program changes in computer software to support field instrument modifications/additives.\nDesigns control systems (DCS/PLC) and process systems to ensure safe and effective operation.\nMaintains existing supervisory controls to keep controls in operation and configured or tuned optimally for unit configuration or dynamic changes.\nDesigns and maintains operator interface to computer supervisory controls.\nEvaluates feasibility and recommends changes to process control design to improve unit operation or as required for advanced control projects.\nSpecifies and designs control systems to enhance unit operation or to solve unit problems, including hardware and software.\nMonitors networks daily to ensure best performance.\nEnsures computers are operating efficiently, are secure, and are maintained.\nMaintains confidentiality when working with sensitive information, results, and communications.\nQualifications\n3+ years of control systems or process engineering in petroleum refinery or related industry preferred.\nCOMPETENCIES:\nKnowledge of DCS, PLCs/SISs, HMIs, Microsoft Operating Systems, and/or computer network architecture.\nKnowledge of field instrumentation and analyzers.\nExperience with ISA regulatory guidelines.\nKnowledge of Honeywell Experion, APACS, RTP, Triconex, and/or Allen Bradley PLCs is preferred.\nCapable of demonstrating the necessary leadership skills that will make this individual successful in this role.\nAbility to set priorities and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nGood written and verbal communication skills.\nEffective team skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization.\nProficient computer skills including MS Office Suite.\nEducation Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in engineering required; chemical or electrical preferred.\nEEO Statement\nTata Consulting Engineers USA, LLC (“TCE”) is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in our workplace.
