This individual will support mechanical equipment design and specification for projects in oil, gas, specialty chemicals, energy transition, and industrial sectors.\nThe successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and two to four years of relevant industry experience. Prior experience in the EPCm industry or supporting projects at client facilities is preferred. This role offers an opportunity to develop technical expertise through equipment selection, procurement support, vendor coordination, and field assignments under the guidance of experienced engineers.\nResponsibilities\nPrepare mechanical equipment specifications, data sheets, and technical documentation with guidance from senior engineers.\nSupport the selection and specification of mechanical equipment in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes, and client standards.\nDevelop inquiry and purchase requisitions and assist with technical bid evaluations.\nReview vendor proposals, drawings, and technical documents for compliance with project specifications.\nCoordinate with vendors and multidisciplinary project teams to resolve technical issues.\nPerform basic engineering calculations and maintain mechanical equipment lists and project records.\nParticipate in vendor inspections, client meetings, site visits, and field assignments as required.\nSupport construction, commissioning, and start-up activities when assigned.\nMaintain awareness of project scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.\nApply safe, practical, and cost-effective engineering principles in the execution of assigned work.\nCommunicate progress, concerns, and technical issues to the supervising engineer and project team.\nPerform work under the guidance and supervision of experienced engineers and Professional Engineers.\nComply with all TCE policies, procedures, operating guidelines, and quality management requirements.\nQualifications\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.\nTwo to four years of relevant experience in the oil, gas, petrochemical, specialty chemicals, or related industrial sectors.\nWorking knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, industry codes, and equipment design practices.\nExperience preparing or reviewing equipment specifications, data sheets, calculations, and vendor documentation.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.\nStrong communication, organizational, analytical, and teamwork skills.\nAbility to manage assigned tasks while maintaining awareness of project scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality requirements.\nWillingness to travel to client sites, vendor facilities, and other project locations as required.\nMust reside in or be willing to relocate to the Baton Rouge area.\nPreferred\nEngineer-in-Training certification or progress toward obtaining certification.\nExperience working in a consulting engineering or EPCm environment.\nExperience supporting engineering projects at client or industrial facilities.\nFamiliarity with FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, construction support, and commissioning activities.\nExperience with rotating equipment, fixed equipment, packaged equipment, or materials handling systems.\nExperience preparing purchase requisitions, evaluating vendor bids, and reviewing vendor drawings.\nFamiliarity with applicable mechanical engineering codes and standards.\nField experience at refining, petrochemical, specialty chemical, LNG, midstream, terminal, power, or other heavy industrial facilities.\nEducation Requirements\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.\nEEO Statement\nTata Consulting Engineers USA, LLC (“TCE”) is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in our workplace.
