Our diverse and inclusive workforce allows for all employees to feel valued and safe to give their opinions and improve our company.\nTata Consulting Engineers USA, LLC, (TCE), is a multi-disciplinary engineering organization offering a full range of integrated engineering design, project support, procurement and construction management services to the energy and chemicals industries.\nPosition Summary\nPiping Designer performs routine and moderately difficult design assignments, which require knowledge and skill in basic drafting techniques, E3D, 2D & 3D CAD software, procedures, knowledge of applicable industry standards, and design standards with minimal supervision.\n***Candidate MUST be a U.S. Citizen.\nResponsibilities\nDevelops under minimal supervision, CADD drawings from design sketches or catalog information.\nDemonstrates a continuing consciousness of safety in daily activities and implemented in work design.\nPrepares moderately complex engineering and constructions drawing from scratch, sketches or verbal instruction, utilizing manual or computer-assisted drafting/design techniques.\nMarks up works in progress for others to draft (or CADD).\nPerforms related fundamental engineering support tasks such as updating computer lists, filing prints, distributing drawings, making simple calculations, proofreading reports, compiling Bills of Material, etc.\nCommunicates the design process with assigned discipline and coordinates work with other disciplines on assigned projects.\nChecks basic layouts, designs and general arrangements of other designers and drafters for accuracy and compliance with code and company client standards and soundness of design basis used.\nMay utilize information from vendor prints, catalogs, technical manuals, etc. to do design work.\nField notes are neatly arranged, accurate and complete.\nSketches are readable by anyone and include all pertinent dimensions, notes and job number.\nUses time efficiently. Promptly act on established goals, understand constructive advice, and adjust to changing directions.\nPerforms tasks aware of the schedule requirements. Recognize that we all have internal and external customers who are dependent on the quality and timeliness of our output to meet their commitments. Coordinate assigned work to support all customers.\nKeeps supervisor informed of progress.\nQuality assurance for personal work assignments.\nSupports field assignments as required.\nIndependently undertake actions, make recommendations, or provide notification when potential problems and opportunities are discovered or additional assignments are required.\nQualifications\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.\nAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write more detailed correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Knowledge of algebra and basic trigonometry is required.\nMust demonstrate proficiency in utilizing computer assisted techniques for difficult design applications.\nAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.\nTop Requirements for the Position:\nProficient with E3D\nProficient with AutoCAD\nProficient with CADWorx and Plant 3D\nBIM 360 Experience\nExperience with Laser Scanning/Total Station activities a plus.\nAbility to perform Field Data Acquisition duties, including taking accurate measurements, walking, climbing stairs/ladders.
