Responsible for quality and food safety within their realm of control.\nLEVEL 1 - ROLE\nDriveEHSQSexcellence culture and improvements\n\nDevelop/designEHSQSpolicies,procedures,andbest practices\n\nSetEHSQSgoals andobjectivesfor the Van Buren plant\n\nEHSQSMS element owner\n\nAll employeesare responsible for:\nCompliance with procedures that implement the requirements of theEHSQSpolicies and procedures\n\nBeing responsible fortheir own actions\n\nCarrying out their work in a manner which does not present a risk to themselves, others, and the environment\n\nReporting all incidents, defects, hazards, and inadequacies of procedures so thatappropriate reviewand corrective action can be taken.\n\nSuggesting improvements and being active in the general improvement of all systems and methods of work to ensureEHSQSsupports activities and services are carried out in a safe, environmentally responsible, reliable, and cost-effective manner.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nChampion and lead the overall site environmental and safety program\n\nDevelop andestablishan effective EHS program that will yield year-on-year improvements\n\nWork with site managementand corporate EHS to create/develop a strong safety culture at all levels of theVan Buren site organization\n\nLead process safety management (PSM) anddust hazards analysis (DHA)complianceactivities\n\nProvidetechnicalassistanceinhelping with hazardelimination, prevention, andmitigation and the resolution of other safety issues\n\nCoach andassistmanager/leaders in the development and implementation of effective safety program\n\nAssis andparticipatewith department and site-wide safety teams\n\nInspect, audit, and monitor equipment, work areas and work practices and procedures for compliance with established health and safety rules andregulations\n\nLead the efforts to ensure action items stemming from incidents, near misses,audits, inspections, and observations areprioritizedand followed up to completion\n\nDevelopsafetytraining, policy development, and safety promotion\n\nDevelop and help administer e-learning courses\n\nAssistwith new and modified processes, equipment, product developmentto ensure safety is included at all levels of design through implementation\n\nParticipate in safety and industrial hygiene reviews, routine safetyinspectionsand incident investigations, makingappropriate recommendations\n\nAssistwith the contract safety program\n\nMaintainaccurateplant safety statistics, incident rates, progress againstcorporate andplantobjectivesand provide routine updates to global safetyutilizingthe safety data management system\n\nParticipate in the Tate & Lyle Solutions network committee meetings and be the conduit for communication and information between the committee\n\nLead the roll out of new committee initiatives at the plant\n\nDevelop the budget for the site safety costcenter and manage spending to stay within budget\n\nWork with local area safety professionals to share ideas within the VanBuren community andparticipatein drills and emergency response\n\nPrepare andsubmitall the environmentalregulatory reports to the city of Van Buren and Arkansas DEQ\n\nReceive environment inspections and audits from the City of Van Buren and the EPA\n\nSKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED\nEducation (Candidate mustpossesseither)\n\nBachelor’s degree in industrialor businessmanagement\n\nMinimumof 5 years’ experienceworking in an industrial EHS program\n\nExperiencein conducting safety investigations\n\nHavestrongcommunication, interpersonal, and observation skills\n\nExtremely knowledgeable of OSHA, DOT, NFPA, EPA, DEQand other governmental regulations\n\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills\n\nStrong leadership,training, and organizationalskills\n\nProficient in the technology usedfor environmental aspects\n\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite,SAPand/or other software\n\nCalifornia Consumer Privacy Act (\"CCPA\")\nThe Company is committed to complying with the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) and all data privacy and laws in the jurisdictions in which it recruits and hires employees.
