As part of the Biotransformation team, the scientist will design and execute experiments, analyze data, troubleshoot process challenges, and collaborate with colleagues to advance new product development and process improvement opportunities.\nAccountabilities:\nAssist in the design and execution of experiments to support new product development and process research, ensuring accurate data collection and documentation.\nSupport data analysis efforts, summarizing findings and contributing to reports for review by senior colleagues and project leaders.\nMaintain research equipment and ensure that experiments are conducted safely and in compliance with regulatory guidelines.\nDocument all research activities and findings accurately, adhering to company standards for record-keeping and data integrity.\nParticipate in team meetings to discuss project progress, share insights, and collaborate on problem-solving.\nAssist in preparing materials and data for presentations, supporting the communication of research outcomes within the team.\nSkills / Experience:\nM.S. or Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Molecular Biology or similar, preferably with experience in the food and beverage, biotechnology or pharma industry\nHands-on experience in downstream processing of fermentation broths, including broth treatment, clarification, cell removal, product recovery, concentration, and purification.\nHave a basic understanding and experience operating laboratory-scale bioreactors.\nPractical knowledge of downstream processing, protein and enzyme recovery, purification techniques in lab scale and scale-up activities.\nFamiliarity with analytical methods for assessing yield, purity, concentration, viscosity, enzyme activity, and product quality.\nInterest in project management and ability to manage multiple priorities.\nAble to convey straightforward technical and non-technical information to audiences that generally understand the subject matter. Communication is normally within the team and closely related teams.\nPrimarily focuses on providing quality results and support to the team.\nAble to work independently while contributing to team objectives with some guidance from a competent professional or manager needed from time to time.\nWhat we can offer you\nTate & Lyle complies with all local/state regulations requiring salary range transparency.
