The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the planning and design of land development projects involving: roads, storm and sanitary sewers, watermain and stormwater management systems. Work assignments include: class environmental assessments, servicing studies, feasibility studies; water distribution and sewage collection analysis; conceptual design; preliminary design; completion of final design and drawings including coordination of utilities and other engineering disciplines and sub-consultants.\nThe variety of work provides challenges for the successful candidate to advance their skills and practical experience in a collaborative environment.\nKey Responsibilities: \nAssist with the design and implementation of land development projects\nPrepare design calculations, report writing, project coordination and management\nPrepare submissions and applications for required approvals as well as prepare cost estimates, tender documents, specifications and construction contract documents\nConduct construction inspection and assist with contract administration, including preparation of requests for quotation, contract change orders and proper invoices\nInteract with client and external parties as required for project needs\nKey Position Requirements: \nDegree or diploma in Civil Engineering or related discipline\n1-5 years of engineering design experience, preferably in the consulting environment\nAbility to obtain P.Eng. in the Province of Ontario or C.E.T/C.Tech designations\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite\nStrong communication and technical writing skills\nEnthusiasm to work in a team structure and a willingness to guide, help and collaborate with others\nUnderstanding of relevant legislation, guidelines and standards\nDemonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and work independently under minimal supervision\nBilingual (English/French) would be an asset\nValid driver’s license and reliable
