Specifications are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job.\nSUMMARY:\nThe Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment. This role requires a deep knowledge of electrical codes, wiring systems, and safety practices. The Journeyman Electrician works independently or as part of a team to ensure electrical systems are installed and maintained to the highest standards of safety and efficiency.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nInstall, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components throughout the facility.\nPerform electrical installations including wiring, conduit systems, panels, switches, outlets, lighting fixtures, and circuit breakers.\nRead and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical specifications to execute installations and repairs.\nDiagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems using testing equipment such as multimeters, voltage testers, and circuit analyzers.\nConduct preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent equipment failure.\nRepair and replace defective electrical components, wiring, and fixtures in accordance with National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.\nInstall and maintain emergency power systems, generators, and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems.\nTest electrical systems and continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of components.\nRespond to emergency electrical issues and power outages, providing timely diagnosis and repair.\nCoordinate with other trades and contractors on electrical installations and facility projects.\nMaintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects.\nEnsure proper lockout/tagout procedures are followed to maintain a safe working environment.\nEXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSURE:\nMust have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in the Commercial Facilities/ Operation and Maintenance Arena.\nA Journeyman Electrical License is required.\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent.\nMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.\nActive Secret or Top-Secret clearance preferred.\nMaximo CMMS Experience a plus, but not required.\nMicrosoft Computer skills (Office, Word, Outlook etc.) a plus but not required.\nThorough knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical systems and equipment in the building.\nREASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS:\nReasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the following essential functions.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nGeneral supervision / Exercise independent judgment in accordance with well-established policies, procedures, and techniques.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nWork Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Performance of essential and ancillary functions requires maintenance of physical conditioning adequate for sitting, walking or standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching, squatting, stretching, bending for prolonged periods of time; at time lift and carry up to as much as 60 pounds, near visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech with background noise.\nIn performing the required work, it is required to have the ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, do a lot of walking, use every kind of hand tool, work in hazardous positions, and carry heavy tools.\nMust be able to be stretching, and standing.\nMust be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities in all types of weather.\nMust be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.\nMust be able to work weekends and holidays at times.\nTRAVEL:\nNone.\nWORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE:\nDoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.\nADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:\nMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
