The position will support the improvement of existing processes, development of new processes and enhancement of the current manufacturing systems. Activities may include performing root cause analysis, verification and validation of data, collection & data analysis, QC auditing, and participating in process and system development meetings.\nThe successful candidate will also work with the office and production teams to improve the working environment and production velocity. This individual would increase Company awareness for best practices, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.\nResponsibilities\nCreate and promote an environment and culture of continuous improvement throughout Tayco.\nPlay a key role in the design and implementation of programs and processes that are sustainable, integrated and provide scale for further company growth.\nWork cross-functionally to collaborate with various departments.\nPerform root cause analysis using problem solving methodologies (i.e. 5Why, Fishbone, etc.) to mitigate or eliminate operational issues.\nSupports the maintenance, development, and changes to operational process and manufacturing process setups - BOMs, routings (BOO), work instructions, SOPs, testing and process flow diagrams.\nSupports the development of internal manufacturing systems.\nIdentify improvement opportunities throughout the organization.\nProvide data and/or metrics to support the project and/or initiatives.\nPromote the adoption of Best Practises throughout the organization.\nPromote and create a safe environment for Team Members to work. \nCoordinate with various departments on the completion of tasks required on various improvement projects and/or initiatives.\nAid in the maintenance of programs and/or initiatives to sustain implemented improvements\nPerform other duties as assigned. \nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or mechanical engineering preferred. \nMinimum 2 years' experience in a high-mix, low-volume or manufactured/engineered to order manufacturing environment. \nUnderstanding of Improvement Tools and Techniques (LEAN, PDCA, poke-yoke, etc.)\nFamiliarity with using SQL Query an asset.\nFamiliarity with Business Intelligence software (i.e. Power BI, Tableau, etc.)\nThe ability to produce succinct reports/presentations to communicate status of assigned projects/tasks. \nFamiliarly with using ERP/MES system for manufacturing.\nAbility to communication clearly with cross-functional departments.\nDemonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities. \nQuality Control background including problem solving and root cause analysis an asset.\nSound technical background (hands-on) with logical deductive reasoning approach. \nInterest in developing technical skills through both internal and external training. \nExceptional task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques. \nConviction to improve personally and support continuous improvement in the department and company as a whole. \nStrong working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft software. \nHigh level of personal integrity. \nStrong work ethic. \nProfessional/mature demeanor under stressful situations. \nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment. \nEffective time management skills.\nWorking Conditions\nThe working conditions described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
