You will play a critical role in driving a positive safety culture, maintaining quality standards and ensuring effective coordination of all site activities.\nResponsibilities:\nSupport the delivery of rotating plant projects across the full project lifecycle, from project definition, tender evaluation and design development through to construction, commissioning and final handover.\n* Provide technical leadership and oversight for rotating plant engineering activities, ensuring \ncompliance with Client’s standards, statutory requirements, and industry best practice. \n* Manage engineering safety within assigned projects through the application of CDM principles, hazard identification, and risk management processes. \n* Prepare responses to technical and tender queries and support the management of nonconformances, defects, and technical risks throughout project delivery. \n* Review and assess rotating plant technology submissions, including prequalification, type testing, and associated technical documentation to support Client’s approval processes. \n* Liaise with Technical Authorities and project stakeholders to develop Technical Authority schedules, support governance activities, and progress technical deviations where required. \n* Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and suppliers through design reviews, project meetings, and technical assurance activities. \n* Provide site-based support as required, including installation and commissioning activities, factory inspections, manufacturing witness points, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT). \n* Review and verify project close-out documentation, including as-built records, commissioning documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, and health and safety file deliverables. \n* Act as the rotating plant engineering lead on assigned projects or across a regional portfolio, typically supporting projects with capital values ranging from £50m to £200m. \n* Work closely with Engineering Managers and Project Managers to identify, manage, and mitigate engineering, quality, and delivery risks. \n* Provide specialist technical support on strategically important projects and complex rotating plant engineering challenges.\nRequirements:\nSignificant engineering experience in rotating plant systems, including the specification, design, integration, testing, commissioning, and operational support of large-scale power infrastructure. Experience with synchronous compensators is highly desirable.\nStrong technical judgement and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex engineering issues and present clear, concise recommendations to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.\nExperience delivering engineering activities across the project lifecycle, including design development, procurement support, construction, commissioning, and project close-out.\nAn understanding of engineering governance, technical assurance, and risk management processes applicable to high-voltage transmission projects.\nKnowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and industry best practice, including an appreciation and awareness of CDM Regulations.\nEffective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and client organisations.\nThe ability to prioritise workload, work independently, and manage multiple technical interfaces within complex infrastructure projects.\nA degree, master’s degree, or equivalent experience in an appropriate engineering discipline.\nThe following experience would be considered advantageous but is not essential: Manufacturing (OEM) or operational experience * Pathfinder projects or other power system stability and network support schemes. * Experience of multidisciplinary design coordination and interface management. \nKey Contact\nQuestions about this role?
