W are seeking a Senior Technical Asset Manager Renewables (Wind & Solar)\nRole Overview\nWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Technical Asset Manager to join our client’s dynamic team in Madrid.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical Asset Management & Oversight\nTake ownership of technical asset management for assigned wind portfolios, while providing technical support for solar PV assets.\nManage and coordinate daily interactions with Asset Management and O&M service providers, ensuring adherence to all contractual terms.\nOversee third-party contractors and advisors, including insurers, market operators, and other external service providers.\nBuild and maintain thorough knowledge of SPV-level agreements, such as O&M contracts, asset management agreements, grid connections, land leases, and commercial arrangements.\nEnsure full compliance with technical, commercial, legal, and regulatory standards across all assets.\nReview, challenge, and assess service provider procedures and processes to verify compliance with contractual obligations, internal standards, and applicable legislation.\nAnalyze monthly O&M and performance reports, identify performance gaps or contract deviations, and drive remediation actions.\nPerform site visits and technical audits to evaluate asset condition, operational availability, and long-term reliability.\nSupervise and ensure compliance with cybersecurity requirements related to operational systems and data.\nEnforce strict adherence to HSE standards and support efficient management of incidents and insurance claims.\nPerformance Monitoring, Analytics & Optimization\nDefine, track, and report technical and financial KPIs for wind and solar assets.\nConduct detailed performance analysis, including internal benchmarking and comparison with industry standards.\nProduce recurring asset and portfolio performance reports, clearly identifying risks, deviations, and value-creation opportunities.\nIdentify, propose, and implement technical, operational, and contractual improvement initiatives.\nSupport assessments related to life-extension, repowering, and optimization strategies, with a strong focus on wind assets.\nOperating Cost Management (OPEX)\nDrive OPEX tracking and cost-control initiatives across the portfolio.\nIdentify efficiency improvements and cost-reduction opportunities without compromising asset availability or performance.\nMonitor revenue streams and work closely with internal teams to explain performance variances and financial risks.\nStakeholder Engagement & Strategic Support\nAct as the primary technical point of contact for key stakeholders, including O&M contractors, market agents, landowners, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.\nMaintain frequent collaboration with UK-based partners and clients, particularly in relation to offshore wind assets.\nProvide technical support to M&A activities, including due diligence reviews, asset assessments, and post-acquisition integration.\nContribute to the enhancement of internal asset-management tools, processes, and reporting standards.\nRequired Competencies & Skills\nStrong and proven expertise in wind energy systems; offshore wind experience is preferred, with onshore wind expertise also acceptable.\nSolid technical understanding of solar PV technology, particularly regulated assets (experience under RD 413/2014 is required).\nGood working knowledge of contractual and legal frameworks related to Asset Management and O&M.\nFluent written and spoken English (minimum C1/C2 level), with regular direct interaction with UK-based stakeholders.\nStrong commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.\nHighly autonomous and proactive, able to manage multiple workstreams across different functions.\nFast learner with the ability to grasp complex topics such as energy regulation, taxation, financial structures, and business models.\nCollaborative team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.\nStrong analytical mindset, comfortable handling and interpreting large datasets.\nAdvanced Excel capability (including pivot tables, lookups, conditional formatting, and dashboard development).\nStrong PowerPoint skills, with the ability to translate technical analysis into clear, executive-level presentations.\nHands-on experience using project-management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, Planner) in O&M or asset-management environments.\nPractical experience working with SCADA data, including trends, alarms, and performance curves, focused on operational efficiency, availability, and forecasting (excluding system administration).\nEducation & Professional Experience\nBachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.\n+5 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly in project execution, asset management, or O&M roles.\nProven hands-on experience with wind assets (offshore wind farm exposure is a strong advantage).\nDemonstrated experience managing regulated solar PV assets.\nFamiliarity with additional renewable energy technologies is considered an asset.\nKey Contact\nQuestions about this role?
