This will be a hands-on technical leadership role that combines people management, technical expertise, operational excellence, and project delivery responsibilities.\nThis location adheres to the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA). All employees must undergo a federal background check, which requires U.S. citizenship.\nYour Responsibilities:\nLeadership & Team Management\nLead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of application developers and technical professionals.\nEstablish performance expectations and support employee growth through regular feedback and development planning.\nParticipate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts.\nFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.\nCoordinate work assignments, priorities, and resource planning to support business objectives.\nHands-On Technical Leadership\nActively participate in software design, development, code review, testing, deployment, and support activities.\nProvide technical guidance and architectural direction for application enhancements and modernization initiatives.\nReview code quality, development standards, and adherence to best practices.\nTroubleshoot complex application issues and assist development teams with technical problem resolution.\nEvaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, and development tools that improve efficiency and quality.\nApplication Development & Delivery\nLead application development efforts through all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).\nCollaborate with business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver technology solutions aligned with organizational goals.\nOversee project execution, scope management, scheduling, and delivery commitments.\nEnsure applications are developed with a focus on security, reliability, maintainability, and scalability.\nIncident, Problem, and Change Management\nLead and support Incident Management activities to ensure timely resolution of production issues and restoration of service.\nFacilitate Problem Management processes including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and prevention strategies.\nParticipate in and oversee Change Management activities to ensure planned changes are properly documented, tested, approved, and implemented with minimal business disruption.\nPartner with Technical Operations, Infrastructure, Security, and Support teams to drive operational excellence and service reliability.\nMonitor application health and key performance metrics and implement proactive improvements.\nOperational Support & Continuous Improvement\nSupport production environments and provide leadership during high-priority incidents and outage situations.\nDrive automation, monitoring, and process improvement initiatives.\nEnsure compliance with established development, security, and operational standards.\nSupport disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity requirements.\nYou Must Have:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.\n5+ years of application development experience.\n2+ years of leadership, supervisory, or technical lead experience.\nExperience managing enterprise applications in production environments.\nStrong communication, leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.\nWe Would Also Prefer:\nExperience developing applications on the Microsoft Windows platform.\nProficiency with C# and .NET application development.\nExperience developing and supporting RESTful APIs and system integrations.\nExperience with Microsoft Azure services and cloud-based application architectures.\nExperience using Git for source code management and collaborative development workflows.\nKnowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.\nExperience with SQL Server and relational database design.\nFamiliarity with Agile and Scrum development methodologies.\nExperience supporting enterprise-scale applications in highly available environments.\nStrong technical leadership and decision-making capabilities.\nAbility to balance hands-on technical contributions with supervisory responsibilities.\nDeep understanding of software development best practices and SDLC methodologies.\nExperience leading incident response, problem resolution, and change implementation activities.\nStrong customer service orientation and business partnership skills.\nAbility to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nContinuous improvement mindset focused on quality, reliability, and operational excellence.\nSuccess Measures:\nDelivery of high-quality software solutions on time and within scope.\nApplication availability, performance, and operational stability.\nEffective execution of Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.\nTeam engagement, development, and retention.\nReduction in recurring production incidents through proactive problem management.\nSuccessful adoption of automation, modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nThe anticipated annual salary for this position is $85,000-$100,000. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
