As a key member of the Asia Advanced Design team, this role supports advanced design projects aligned with TaylorMade's long-term technology and product development roadmap. Working closely with suppliers across Asia and global R&D teams, the position provides technical leadership through project management, innovation, problem solving, research, testing, and product validation. Travel within Asia, including Vietnam and China, may be required to support project execution and maintain strong collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional partners.\nThis position requires proficiency in leading suppliers, planning, design studies and evaluation, process studies, materials (including metals, polymers, carbon composites), analysis, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing processes relevant to golf club heads. Experience in one or more manufacturing processes is required, with preference given to candidates who have exposure to multiple manufacturing technologies, including casting, forging, machining, forming, welding, heat treatment, surface finishing and coating processes, molding, joining technologies, additive manufacturing, and automation. To drive successful results, this role also requires aptitude in project management, time management, critical thinking, detailed problem solving, efficient, accurate and complete communication, collaboration, reporting and documentation in a fast-paced environment.\nEssential Functions and Key Responsibilities:\nProvide technical leadership, mentorship, and knowledge sharing to support team growth, collaboration, and engineering excellence.\nCollaborate with suppliers, Asia-based teams, and global R&D partners to stay aligned with and support technology roadmaps, product development projects, and manufacturing initiatives.\nDrive prototype development, process learning, and technical problem-solving with suppliers to ensure high quality, timely delivery, and scalable manufacturing solutions.\nCommunicate technical requirements, project status, and engineering recommendations effectively with internal and external stakeholders.\nConduct research, testing, data analysis, and design of experiments (DOE) to improve product performance, durability, and manufacturing processes.\nSupport innovation initiatives through technology investigations, intellectual property development, and advanced manufacturing research.\nIdentify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance engineering efficiency, product quality, and development speed.\nProvide technical leadership, mentorship, and support to engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams.\nPerform other related duties and assignments as required.\nKnowledge and Skills Requirements:Strong knowledge of engineering materials, including metals (stainless steels, titanium, aluminum, tungsten alloys), polymers, and carbon composite materials.\nExperience with multiple manufacturing processes, such as casting, forging, machining, welding, coating technologies, molding, powder metallurgy, MIM, bonding, additive manufacturing, and related production methods.\nStrong foundation in statistical analysis and data-driven problem solving, including DOE, hypothesis testing, root cause analysis, and interpretation of complex datasets. Experience applying these techniques to product performance, reliability, durability, and manufacturing process evaluations.\nEffective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across global teams, suppliers, and diverse cross-functional disciplines.\nProficient in Microsoft Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, One Note).\nProficiency in AI tools is preferred, at a minimum an embrace and exploration of how they can benefit the results, efficiency and operations of the team.\nAbility to work effectively across different countries, cultures, and time zones in a fast-paced development environment.\nFluent English written and verbal communication skills are needed.\nAbility to act with urgency when opportunities or challenges arise.\nKnowledge of golf principles and associated terminology is preferred.\n\nEducation, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:\nBS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related field (MS degree preferred).\n3+ years of professional experience in related role for BS degree.\n1+ years of professional experience in related role for MS degree.\nWork Environment / Physical Requirements:\nNormal office conditions with extensive computer usage.\nManufacturing and lab environment, with exposure to dirt, dust and noise.\nAbility to work extended hours as necessary.\nAble to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption and changing priorities.\nLight physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.\nInternational travel to work with suppliers and local teams required, up to 1 time per month, mainly in Vietnam and China.
