Connect to what matters.\nThe Opportunity\nReporting to the Senior Manager of Canadian Business Communications, the Communications Advisor will focus primarily on internal communications that help employees connect their work to business priorities, performance and shared goals. As part of an integrated communications team, you will develop leadership updates, employee engagement activities and stories that build understanding, connection and pride across our Natural Gas Pipelines and Power and Energy Solutions business. You will also support project and operations communications and communications governance, bringing strong writing, sound judgement and hands-on coordination to these additional responsibilities.\nNote: We request all applicants to please include a cover letter at the beginning of their resume\nWhat you'll do\nDevelop and deliver internal communications that help office and field employees understand business performance, safety, operational priorities and growth, and how their work contributes to results\nCoordinate leadership communications, including quarterly updates, town halls; prepare speaking notes, presentations, key messages and questions and answers\nCreate clear, engaging content for email, intranet, Teams and leader LinkedIn posts, highlighting employee contributions, project milestones, operational achievements and values-based recognition\nWork with business partners, leadership teams and communications colleagues to support two-way dialogue and field engagement, gather stories and authentic visuals, and tailor content to employee needs\nProvide support for project and operations communications, including issues management and incident response, with guidance from senior team members\nMaintain communications calendars, plans and workback schedules, coordinating timing with enterprise communications, business milestones and public disclosures to keep messages relevant and avoid duplication\nMaintain business unit intranet pages, project web content and SharePoint resources so employees and communications partners can access current, accurate information and approved materials\nSupport communications governance by coordinating approvals, version control, records management and brand standards; maintain organized content and creative assets, track budgets and flag decisions or issues requiring escalation\nUse employee feedback, survey insights and channel metrics to inform content, report on engagement and recommend improvements that strengthen understanding, recognition and leadership connection\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, political science or a related field\nMinimum of four years of applicable work experience in internal communications, employee engagement, corporate communications, project communications or a related field\nDemonstrated ability to translate complex business information into clear, relevant messages for employees\nExperience developing leadership or employee communications, such as business updates, speaking notes, presentations, intranet stories or questions and answers\nExperience supporting employee events, town halls or engagement activities, including content preparation and coordination\nExperience delivering communications across multiple channels and managing timelines, reviews and approvals\nDemonstrated ability to build relationships with business partners and communications colleagues, gather information and deliver accurate, timely materials\nPreferred Qualifications\nStrong writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and content for leaders, office employees and field teams\nSound judgement and discretion when handling sensitive information, identifying communications risks and seeking guidance or escalating issues\nCollaborative working style and confidence working with leaders and partners across functions\nStrong coordination and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to build workbacks, manage approvals, dependencies and competing priorities, and work independently to deliver on commitments\nExperience in energy, infrastructure or another operational environment; familiarity with project, safety or workforce communications is an asset\nFamiliarity with SharePoint, intranet publishing, Teams events and digital content tools\nAbility to interpret basic communications metrics and employee feedback and use findings to improve content and delivery\nCuriosity about the business and an ability to identify stories that connect business results, employee contributions and company values\nThis position requires candidates to:\nTravel, with overnight stays away from home\nOccasionally be available for extended work hours outside of standard business hours to respond to on-call issues (early morning, evening and weekends)\nParticipate in our emergency response team and on-call rotation\nTo remain competitive, support our high-performance culture and allow for more flexibility in the way we work, we offer a hybrid work model and flexible dress code for our eligible office-based workforce in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. #LI-Hybrid\nAbout our business\nWe are a leader in North American energy infrastructure, spanning Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
