Connect to what matters.\nThe Opportunity\nOur Rayne, Louisiana Construction Services team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business and we are expanding our presence in the region to help safely build and maintain the integrity of our natural gas pipeline infrastructure across the United States. The Construction Technician will support pipeline construction and mechanical activities associated with pipeline maintenance and construction.\nThe successful individual will possess a high degree of respect for safe work habits, display a great work attitude, and work effectively in a construction environment while acting independently in the execution of pipeline maintenance and construction.\nThis position is eligible for overtime pay and requires frequent travel (75%) in support of pipeline construction activities.\nWhat you’ll do\nCoat pipelines\nSpot excavation activities\nAssist welders with welder activities\nComplete general labor activities on various types of projects\nShip, receive, and unload materials for projects\nOperate power tools such as drills, grinders, torches, etc.\nGather MTR’s for all materials that are applicable to a project\nPerform red line reviews/FMR’s and work with internal/external engineering as needed\nAssist with ordering of welding consumables\nOrder and manage inventory of coating materials\nOperate equipment that is necessary to off-load trucks\nOversee small equipment certification logs and ensure compliance\nCatalog and complete project record binders for all projects\nAssist crew leader and associate with obtaining documentation, op qualifications, and procedures\nAssist crew on constructability reviews, safety aspects, and compliance for projects\nCross train with project planner and fill-in as needed to support program\nAssist planner on information gathering for quotations and other engineering data as needed\nComplete daily inspections forms\nOther tasks as required\nMinimum Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent education\nFour plus years of work experience in a mechanical related environment\nPreferred Qualifications\nValid CDL license or ability to obtain license\nPipeline or construction industry experience\nComputer proficiency to include experience with SAP\nThis position requires candidates to\nHave and maintain a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred) and safe driving record\nSuccessfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing\nBe subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and extended workdays and/or workweeks for emergency response purposes\nFrequent travel to other company locations to support construction activities, which will involve overnight stays away from home\nDriving a motor vehicle is an essential job function of this position.
