We appreciate your attention to detail and look forward to learning more about you!\nThe Opportunity\nWe are seeking a Student Intern to support natural gas pipeline operations and outage planning activities. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience using hydraulic simulation models and historical operating data to support safe pipeline integrity work, maintain pressure monitoring plans, and assist with the planning and execution of system outages. You will be exposed to natural gas transmission operations, pipeline hydraulics, integrity activities, stakeholder coordination, and outage management while contributing to safe and reliable pipeline operations.\nAs a Student Intern, you’ll contribute to meaningful work that supports our business and communities while gaining practical experience in your field of study. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, build your technical and professional skills, and gain exposure to the energy industry.\nOur student opportunities provide a supportive environment where you can learn, contribute and develop through hands-on experience, collaboration and mentorship.\nWhat you'll do\nUse hydraulic simulation models to determine pressure monitoring points for pipeline integrity digs (technical in nature)\nObtain and analyze historical pipeline operating data to help determine safe excavation pressures\nMaintain daily operating plans and pressure monitoring alarms for dig crew location and progress\nSupport outage coordinators and planners with day-to-day operation and execution of system outages on the NGTL and Foothills pipeline systems\nSolicit and maintain plant turnaround information from shippers\nOther administrative tasks relating to outage planning management\nMinimum Qualifications\nCurrently enrolled in an accredited Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree program\nIn third year of Studies\nCompletion of at least one academic term prior to the start of the work term in May 2027\nReturning to full-time studies immediately following the work term\nAvailability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the work term\nPreferred Qualifications\nKnowledge of gas pipeline hydraulics and familiarity with natural gas transmission systems would be considered an asset\nEffective in a rapidly changing environment with changing priorities\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment\nCommitted to building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders\nAbility to accurately analyze information and deal with ambiguity\nExperience working in a dynamic and challenging environment, and adaptable to changing priorities\nAbility to multi-task effectively, with strong organizational and time management skills\nReflective and committed to continuous improvement and personal development\nThis position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
