Job Description:

This role manages the day-to-day activities of an operations unit/ business area. Ensures that processes are conducted efficiently, timely and according to established policies and procedures, may assign, prioritize and monitor work.

Depth & Scope:

• Works autonomously within established procedures and/or is responsible for activities involving multiple steps, systems, and jurisdictions
• Requires advanced skills and expertise in a range of products and services, processes, procedures and systems in a set of focus areas, where transactions could be characterized by moderate risk
• Gathers and analyzes data to identify and solve problems, escalates as appropriate
• Uses judgement and understanding of process/policy risk when recommending exceptions outside general practices or guidelines
• May act as a team lead, coordinating the work of others and providing coaching to maintain service, process and product standards
• Generally interacts with internal customers/partners for functions performed and/or external customers
• May provide process/policy guidance to others (e.g. within team, internal partners)
• Focus of work spans from daily, weekly to monthly activities
• Requires full proficiency in a range of technical processes and procedures through job related training and considerable on the job experience to perform a range of work assignments
• Requires solid knowledge of the business unit/operational functions as well as regulatory issues/requirements for jurisdictions supported

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma
• 3+ years of experience

Customer Accountabilities:

• Manages activities and all administrative functions for an assigned department, including making sure schedules and deadlines are met
• Develops and communicates changes in work standards and/or procedures
• Assists management with maintenance of department assets
• May recommend changes to policies and procedures to ensure more efficient processing of work and conformance with Company policies and regulatory requirements
• Provides assistance/training to junior staff as required
• Assists in monitoring the performance of operational units and suggests process improvement initiatives

Shareholder Accountabilities:

• Prioritizes and manages own workload to meet SLA requirements for service and productivity
• Understands and applies operating policies and procedures
• Follows internal and industry regulations and operating practices in completing and recording transactions for either the organization or clients
• Escalates nonstandard or high-risk activities as necessary
• Ensures documentation that is prepared/completed is accurate and properly reflects business intentions and is consistent with relevant rules/regulations
• Completes investigations - reports/escalates risk issues or process gaps identified
• Identifies and recommends opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency
• Ensures necessary due diligence to support the accuracy of all activities
• Be knowledgeable of and comply with Bank Code of Conduct
