Product Management

Job Description:

This role is responsible to provide vision, leadership and strategic guidance in developing and implementing company products, services and programs including features, benefits and characteristics that meet customer needs and are priced to meet company and shareholder objectives.

Depth & Scope:

  • Manages the identification of competitive offerings in the market and their strengths and weaknesses; Prioritizes the presence and relative importance of key product deliverables; Ensures the successful design of end-to-end processes for development, implementation, use, reporting and feedback on developed products

  • Determines the methodology to quantify market analysis to look at internal measurements and product performance to determine how the product impacts the company operations including product life cycle, quality, technical support, marketing programs and sales support

  • Ensures appropriate product mapping with target markets to determine which market segments to proactively pursue and ensures targeted segments will support the current and future business goals of the company

  • Determines and acts on long term product development and customer strategies to ensure they are effectively supporting the business line needs

  • Oversees the creation of product roadmaps to illustrate the vision for the product; Plans product solutions that describe the ideal for users that represent the programming targets; Ensures the creation of scenarios to describe market problems and illustrate why product features/requirements are necessary; Develops marketing programs to move buyers through the buying process

  • Champions change management across the company continuously consulting with business partners and staff seeking opportunities for improvement in product design, delivery and profitability

  • Educates and advises senior management on current product development issues/opportunities, brand strategy, execution standards and leading-edge industry trends; Directs the services of product development, direct marketing and planning and integrates with Brand & Advertising to achieve a unified approach; Provides direction in the rollout of new or revised products and services; Develops a broad marketing concept and marketing policy in support of company business strategy and operational plans

  • Directs market research projects and recommends methods for growing existing markets and developing opportunities for customer products and services

  • Consults and advises top management on the marketing initiatives related to major company activities; Studies, analyzes and reports on quality of service, customer attitudes, economic conditions and government controls with respect to their effect on sales of existing or proposed products and services. Collaborates with business lines in establishing new services and products

  • Demonstrates effectiveness in creating and using conceptual frameworks to structure the development of insights into the consumer; as a result, demonstrates a high level of analytical rigor in formulation of product insights

  • Creates an innovative perspective on how the consumer relates to individual channels and knows how to influence the behavior of the consumer through the value change; Develops customer management models for use by product and distribution and is measured on customer satisfaction

  • Uses a wide variety of information about the consumer to develop insight; Goes beyond conventional sources of marketing data and demonstrates a passionate engagement with the consumer, taking full responsibility for understanding the consumer's current and future needs

  • Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of the commercial and consumer supply chain value drivers with the business, with an appreciation of how these will impact on the viability of product strategies

  • Keeps informed of competitive situations and of new, successful ideas and methods in the marketing and public relations field; Designs a compliance framework to ensure all products and services meet various state and federal banking and investment laws

  • Creates a vision for the marketing product development department to include all future innovation opportunities; This requires developing a comprehensive knowledge of the industry and the consumer needs

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree required

  • 10+ Years of related experience

  • Proves senior management leadership skills to lead a quality department of well-respected product development experts and consultants

  • Ability to develop and drive product strategies throughout the organization

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the design, development, implementation and profitability of product development and marketing in a financial/banking environment required

  • Superb communication, problem-solving and decision making skills with ability to effectively communicate with executive management

  • Proves ability to build strong collaborative business relationships

  • Demonstrates ability to negotiate and apply skills to exercise influence over others decisions without express authority and influence mass change management

  • Experience in leading project management and delivering on time and within budget

  • Proves experience in product pricing, financial statements and ensuring budget targets are met or exceeded
