This role operates within the Technology Operations team with primary accountability for Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Database Security, Compliance, and Operational Excellence.\nThe successful candidate will possess strong expertise in Oracle and PostgreSQL database technologies, including high availability, backup and recovery, replication, performance tuning, automation, patch management, audit readiness, and security controls. The role requires a proactive problem solver who can lead complex incident resolution, conduct root cause analysis, drive automation initiatives, and continuously improve database reliability and operational efficiency across enterprise environments.\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:\nDatabase Administration & Operations\nAdminister, monitor, maintain, and support Oracle and PostgreSQL databases across production, non-production, cloud, and on-premises environments.\nEnsure high availability, performance, recoverability, security, and operational stability of database platforms.\nPerform database installation, configuration, upgrades, migrations, cloning, provisioning, decommissioning, and lifecycle management activities.\nManage database storage, schemas, users, privileges, data integrity, and capacity planning.\nSupport highly available and mission-critical database environments with strict uptime and recoverability requirements.\nIncident Management\nLead technical diagnosis and resolution of database-related incidents and service disruptions.\nAct as a senior escalation point for Severity 1, Severity 2, and high-impact production incidents.\nRestore service quickly while minimizing business impact and operational risk.\nCollaborate with application, infrastructure, network, security, and vendor support teams during incident management activities.\nParticipate in 24x7 on-call support rotations and provide timely incident response.\nProblem Management\nConduct detailed root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring and high-severity incidents.\nIdentify underlying systemic and compliance requirements before implementation.\nDatabase Patching & Lifecycle Management\nPlan and execute Oracle and PostgreSQL database patching activities, including Release Updates (RU), Release Update Revisions (RUR), Critical Patch Updates (CPU), security patches, and version upgrades.\nMaintain database platform currency and compliance with enterprise vulnerability management standards.\nValidate patch deployments through testing, monitoring, and post-implementation verification.\nDevelop automation and standardized procedures for patch deployment and validation activities.\nSupport platform modernization and end-of-life remediation initiatives.\nPerformance Monitoring & Tuning\nMonitor and optimize database performance, availability, utilization, and capacity.\nAnalyze SQL execution plans and optimize queries, indexes, partitioning strategies, and database configurations.\nDiagnose performance bottlenecks across application, database, storage, and infrastructure layers.\nConduct proactive health assessments and performance reviews.\nPartner with development teams to improve application database interactions and overall system database hardening, security reviews, penetration testing remediation, and vulnerability assessments.\nManage Oracle Wallet, Oracle Key Vault, SSL/TLS encryption, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE),
