As a team, we work to deliver value for our clients every day.\nJob Description\nWe are looking for an experienced Hands-on Sr. Platform Engineer that will work on innovative and transformational initiatives at TD Securities -- the implementation of the next generation Trading Risk Warehouse platform.\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of a scalable, resilient and high performing PnL (Profit and Loss) reporting platform that will be used by Risk Analysts, Front Office Traders, and Senior Executives.\nThis is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies to solve problems of scale and speed. As a lead platform engineer, you will be working on leading platform engineering team to pinpoint the system bottleneck, providing tangible solutions quickly to resolve platform issues, automating platform maintenance tasks as well as demonstrating a strong technical leadership to ensure the quality of deliverables in a timely manner.\nResponsibilities\nBuild and maintain a high performing platform and ensure the platform meets the need of business, providing stability, reliability, security and scalability. \nManage underlying infrastructure, including hardware, software and storage resources. \nManage multiple environments (Prod/Pre-Prod/Lower environments) and ensure the integration and stability of environments. \nStreamline code promotion process and providing ways to improve developer productivity. \nEnsure the stability of platform and TRW ecosystem. \nFind ways to optimize platform and address system bottlenecks. \nAbility to analyze system issues and provide a solution to resolve the issue permanently. \nPromote the best practices and follow the continuous integration and delivery. \nDrive transformation by continuously looking for ways to automate existing processes and workflows. \nExplore new capabilities and technologies to drive innovation. \nWork closely with development and production operation teams to support their needs, troubleshoot issues and enhance the platform. \nDesired Skillsets:\nProficient in programming skills for automation: Unix shell scripting, python or other programming language \nNetworking and Linux administration \nSQL \nDevOps CICD/ tools/GIT/Jenkins \nMonitoring and logging tools \nHadoop Cluster/spark/hive system administration. \nManage large scale Web and ETL platform \nCloud platform experience is a plus \nGreat communication and problem-solving skills. \nPeople management skills. \nTechnical Skills:\n8+ years in managing and supporting large scale and mission critical platform. \nExperience in large scale platform migration initiative. \nStrong experience with managing Hadoop platform including HDFS, Spark and Hive \n8+ years' experience in Linux system administration. \nExperience in managing web and service/API platform. \nExperience working with messaging technologies (e.g. Kafka) \nExperience with RDBMS, demonstrable fluency in SQL and any non-relational DB such as Cassandra (is preferred). \n6+ years of experience managing Git, CI/CD toolset (Maven), Jenkins, working within an Agile environment \nExperience in implementing and managing system monitoring tools. \nExperience developing and managing highly scalable and low latency systems. \nA passion for bringing best products to the customer, simplifying and automating work, for making things better, for being efficient and helping others. \nBusiness Skills:\nGood communication skills.
