Director, NPI Supply Chain
Position Summary
The Director, NPI Supply Chain leads end-to-end supply chain strategy and execution for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs supporting cloud service providers and next-generation AI infrastructure. This role is responsible for driving material readiness, supplier engagement, demand planning, capacity planning, and operational execution from concept through mass production. The Director partners closely with Engineering, Program Management, Strategic Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure successful product launches while minimizing supply risk, optimizing cost, and supporting customer ramp schedules.
This position leads a team of Supply Chain Program Managers and NPI Supply Chain professionals and is responsible for establishing scalable processes, AI-enabled planning capabilities, executive-level reporting, and operational excellence that support business growth and customer success.
Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to)
NPI Supply Chain Leadership
Lead supply chain strategy and execution for new product introductions, ensuring material readiness throughout the product lifecycle from concept, development, and validation builds through mass production. Establish scalable supply chain processes, launch governance, and KPI management to support successful product introductions and customer commitments.
Cross-Functional Program Management
Partner closely with Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and Customer teams to drive alignment on product launch schedules, material readiness, capacity requirements, and critical milestones. Serve as the primary supply chain leader for NPI programs, ensuring seamless coordination across all stakeholders.
Supplier & Strategic Sourcing Collaboration
Work closely with Strategic Sourcing and supplier partners to develop sourcing strategies, qualify suppliers, secure component availability, and manage capacity commitments. Provide visibility into demand forecasts and program requirements to ensure supplier readiness and support successful product launches.
NPI to Mass Production Transition
Lead supply chain readiness activities supporting engineering builds, prototype validation, product qualification, and production ramp efforts. Drive the successful transition from development phases into volume manufacturing while ensuring continuity of supply, operational stability, and launch execution.
Demand, Capacity & Fulfillment Management
Develop and execute demand and supply planning strategies that support customer growth, new product launches, and manufacturing scalability. Manage capacity planning across global manufacturing sites while optimizing inventory levels, reducing shortages, and balancing cost, service, and working capital objectives.
Risk Management & Business Continuity
Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to component constraints, supplier performance, capacity limitations, long lead times, and allocation challenges. Establish risk management frameworks and contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted product launches and customer fulfillment.
Data Analytics & Operational Excellence
Leverage forecasting tools, supply chain analytics, and AI-driven planning solutions to improve decision-making, forecast accuracy, inventory performance, and operational efficiency. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process standardization, automation, and supply chain optimization.
Dashboard Development & Reporting
Partner with Business Operations and IT teams to develop executive dashboards and reporting tools that provide visibility into NPI readiness, supplier performance, inventory health, capacity utilization, and critical program metrics. Utilize AI-enabled analytics to support data-driven decision-making and achievement of strategic KPIs.
Team Leadership
Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing NPI Supply Chain organization. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement while ensuring team performance aligns with business objectives and customer expectations.
Core Requirements
Experience
10+ years of supply chain, materials, planning, or supply chain program management experience, including leadership responsibility within NPI or technology manufacturing environments. Experience supporting server, networking, storage, cloud infrastructure, OEM/ODM manufacturing, or AI hardware programs is preferred.
Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of NPI processes, supply planning, material planning, supplier management, manufacturing operations, capacity planning, and supply chain risk management. Experience with ERP, PLM, MRP, and analytics tools is highly desirable.
Leadership Skills
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, drive new product launches, and manage complex programs in fast-paced environments. Strong communication, problem-solving, and executive presentation skills are required.
Compensation
Anticipated Base Salary Range: $180,000 - $210,000
Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and business needs
