This role will be based in India and ideally in Mumbai and will provides day-to-day guidance on export control matters, manages compliance escalations, implements trade compliance programs, and ensures adherence to applicable export regulations and internal policies.\nThe position serves as a key business partner to Sales, Operations, Logistics, Customs Brokers, and other stakeholders, while also supporting regulatory compliance initiatives, audits, training programs, and government inquiries. A strong understanding of U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), India export controls, and regional export control regulations, requirements and processes is essential.\nThis role requires an in-office presence of at least three days per week.\nResponsibilities:\nExport Compliance Operations\nManage and resolve daily export control escalations raised by Sales, Sales Operations, Logistics, Customs Brokers, and other business stakeholders.\nProvide guidance on export licensing, classification, screening requirements, and regulatory obligations across the Asia Pacific region.\nSupport business transactions by evaluating export control and trade compliance risks and recommending appropriate mitigation measures.\nCompliance Program Management\nImplement and maintain the company's global export compliance program across multiple countries within the APJ region.\nChampion compliance with applicable export control laws, regulations, and corporate policies.\nMonitor and assess regulatory developments and support implementation of compliance requirements to meet evolving regulatory developments.\nTraining and Awareness\nAid in design and deliver of training programs for Co-workers and stakeholders on trade compliance topics\nPromote a culture of compliance through ongoing education and stakeholder engagement.\nAudits and Risk Management\nConduct compliance assessments, self-audits, and operational reviews to identify areas of risk and improvement.\nDevelop and monitor corrective action plans to address identified compliance gaps.\nSupport internal audits, external assessments, and government-led compliance reviews.\nKnowledge, Skills and Experience:\n8 to 10 Years of relevant work experience.\n\n3 to 5 Years of experience directly managing / supervising employees.\n\nBachelor's Degree with Export Controls field of study required.\n\nOther Education / Certifications: Economics/Business Management Degree\n\nAble to execute instructions and to request clarification when needed.\n\nPossesses strong data entry skills.\n\nAble to perform basic mathematical calculations.\n\nAble to recognize and attend to important details with accuracy and efficiency.\n\nAble to communicate clearly and convey necessary information.\n\nAble to converse and write effectively in English.\n\nAble to create and conduct formal presentations.\n\nAble to interact effectively with all levels of management.\n\nAble to negotiate skillfully, promote/sell ideas persuasively, and close transactions with mutually beneficial results.\n\nPossesses strong multi-cultural interpersonal skills.\n\nPossesses strong leadership skills with a willingness to lead, create new ideas, and be assertive.\n\nPossesses strong organizational and time management skills, driving tasks to completion.\n\nAble to constructively work under stress and pressure when faced with high workloads and deadlines.\n\nAble to maintain and promote social, ethical, and organizational standards in conducting internal and external business activities.\n\nAble to work independently with minimum supervision.\n\nAble to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information\n\nAble to build solid, effective working relationships with others.\n\nAble to exhibit ability to be sensitive to the needs, concerns, and feelings of others.\n\nAble to quickly learn new systems and technology.\n\nAble to use relevant computer system applications at an advanced level.\n\nAt Tech Data, a TD SYNNEX Company, our values guide everything we do: Together, We Own It, We Dare to Go, We Grow and Win, and above all, We Do the Right Thing.
