This individual will be responsible for owning the data model across our analytics solutions and data warehouse. As a leader, the senior data engineer must be able to provide technical guidance to other data engineers.\nThe position is also responsible for collaborating with key stakeholders on current and future needs for data infrastructure that will ensure a scalable, reliable, and secure data footprint. This person should be energized by the opportunity to work with large data sets and have expertise in the creation and management of data sets.\nAdditionally, this person should be an expert in implementing and operating data flow solutions from data ingestion through data consumption. The Data Engineer will identify, gather and ensure reliable data connections from disparate datasets (Enterprise systems, home-grown databases, and third party sources) to support our data analysts and data scientists as they strive to fulfill key business initiatives. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. An individual who is experienced in enabling data science teams and working in public cloud environments is highly desired.\nA typical day is fast-paced, and dynamic and it is necessary to be able to switch gears at a moment’s notice. You must be ready to jump in, seek to understand, be flexible, and constantly learn with eagerness and enthusiasm.\nResponsibilities:\nLeverage prior experience and industry standard best practices to analyze cross functional data and provide insights to business teams\nLead and direct on-shore and off-shore engineering project teams team to deliver data solutions on time\nArchitect, build and operate data models and develop DB views, table functions, models in SAP HANA as well as public cloud data platforms to meet business needs\nEnable data science organization, business groups, and engineering teams to build analytics quickly and effectively\nDefine required data integration requirements between various systems and work with extended team to get them created\nFollow all documented architecture, design and deployment processes to ensure compliance with policies\nSet, communicate, and reinforce technical standards\nCollaborate with broader IT and engineering teams to build analytics solutions\nKnowledge, Skills and Experience:\n5+ years of experience in the area of BWHana/Datasphere software development\n5+ years developing end-to-end business intelligence solutions: data modeling, ETL, and reporting\n5+ years in relational database concepts with a solid knowledge of star schema, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, SQL Tuning, OLAP, Big Data technologies (HANA, Snowflake or any modern database).\n3-4 years of SAP HANA database experience\nExpert in working with large databases, BI applications, data quality, and performance tuning\nExperience in design, development, and hands-on implementation of Microsoft Azure cloud solutions is a plus\nManage and Create Azure Data factory Pipelines is a plus\nExperience in Logic Apps to manage, integrate data and systems with Azure and automate the workflows is a plus\nKnowledge of other cloud solutions is a plus\nA great communicator and the ability to energize others\nBS/MS in Computer Science or related majors\nDevelopment experience in Python, R, or JavaScript is a bonus\nExperience in machine learning is a big plus\nExcellent communication skills, ability to work individually and in a broader geographically disperse team\nAt Tech Data, a TD SYNNEX Company, our values guide everything we do: Together, We Own It, We Dare to Go, We Grow and Win, and above all, We Do the Right Thing.
