This position ensures systems remain secure, compliant, and up to date by applying patches to operating systems, applications, and infrastructure components according to established policies and schedules.\nKey Responsibilities:\nPatch Deployment:\nExecute patching tasks for servers, endpoints, and network devices following approved schedules and procedures.\nValidate successful patch installation and troubleshoot any failures or issues.\nTroubleshoot system, network, and application issues.\nAutomate routine tasks using shell scripting or automation tools.\nSupport cloud, virtualization, and container environments.\nCompliance & Reporting:\nMaintain accurate records of patching activities and compliance status.\nAssist in generating reports for audits and internal reviews.\nCoordination & Communication:\nCollaborate with regional IT teams and other stakeholders to minimize disruption during patching cycles.\nCommunicate patching progress and escalate issues promptly.\nRisk Awareness:\nUnderstand vulnerability priorities and ensure timely application of critical patches.\nFollow security best practices to reduce exposure to threats.\nContinuous Improvement:\nProvide feedback on patching processes and suggest improvements.\nLearn and adapt to new patching tools and automation technologies.\nQualifications & Skills:\nBasic knowledge of patch management tools (e.g., SCCM, WSUS, Ivanti, BigFix).\nFamiliarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and application patching.\nStrong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.\nGood communication and teamwork skills in a global environment.\nExperience with Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, CentOS, Rocky, Debian or RHEL.\nKnowledge of: Bash/Shell scripting\nUnderstanding of networking, security, and server management.\nFamiliarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms is a plus.\nStrong problem-solving and communication skills.\nRequired Experience\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).\nProfessional Experience:\n2+ years of experience in IT operations or system administration.\nHands-on experience with patch management tools (e.g., SCCM, WSUS, Ivanti, BigFix).\nFamiliarity with Windows and Linux operating systems patching processes.\nBasic understanding of cybersecurity principles and vulnerability management.\nPreferred Experience:\nExposure to global IT environments and distributed teams.\nExperience with automation, configuration, and scripting tools (Powershell, Bash, Ansible, Git, Puppet, Chef,...)\nFamiliarity with container technologies like Docker, Kubernetes.\nStrong troubleshooting and analytical skills.\nSoft Skills:\nStrong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.\nGood communication and teamwork skills in a multicultural environment.\nAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.\nAt Tech Data, a TD SYNNEX Company, our values guide everything we do: Together, We Own It, We Dare to Go, We Grow and Win, and above all, We Do the Right Thing.
