Working closely with senior engineers, technical teams, project stakeholders, and vendors, you will be :\n\nSupporting and maintaining network infrastructure across multiple sites\n\nAssisting in the design and deployment of network solutions\n\nTroubleshooting connectivity issues and ensuring optimal performance\n\nCollaborating with senior engineers and clients to deliver high-quality service\n\nTravelling to various locations to support on-site installations and upgrades\n\nAbout the Team/Service/ Location\n\nThis permanent, full-time Network Engineer role is ideally based in the Christchurch area, which will serve as the primary location, however, we are also open to candidates based in Timaru or Nelson Marlborough.\n\nThe Network Engineer (Te Waipounamu) sits within the Network and Communications team, part of the Digital Operations function under the wider Digital Services group. Reporting into the Practice Lead (Network and Communications Te Waipounamu), You'll be part of a dynamic team that values innovation, collaboration, and a can-do attitude.\n\nThe team plays a vital role in maintaining the digital infrastructure that supports efficient, connected healthcare services.\n\nAbout you\n\nAre you a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for networking and a thirst for adventure? We're looking for a motivated, energetic, and positive individual to join our team as a Network Engineer.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career who's eager to learn, grow, and explore.\n\nWhat we are looking for:\n\nAn enthusiastic professional with a strong hands-on experience in networking (1-3 years)\n\nPositive attitude and excellent communication skills\n\nWillingness to travel regularly\n\nStrong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching, wireless)\n\nFamiliarity with Cisco, Juniper, Aruba or similar network technologies\n\nFamiliarity with Fortinet or similar network protection technologies\n\nEagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment\n\nYou will also have the following skills and experience to ensure your success in the role:\n\nCCNA certification or equivalent\n\n3 years' experience delivering day-to-day technical support for end-users and IT systems.\n\n1 – 3 years of experience in deploying and configuring complex network solutions, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues and managing incidents.\n\nAbility to be extremely efficient at operational tasks, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting the implementation of solutions.\n\nWorking for Health New Zealand\n\nHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
