Learn more atwww.teads.com.\nWe are looking for a Junior Backend Engineer to join the DR-Delivery team in Ljubljana. This role is for someone early in their career who wants to grow fast by working on real, business-critical backend systems alongside experienced engineers.\nOur main Engineering challenges at Teads\nBuild efficient and easy-to-use web products used by thousands of users working for the world’s most premium publishers, advertisers, and agencies.\nRich and diverse tech stack and system architecture to optimize for performance, scalability, resiliency, and cost efficiency. We use mostly Scala and TypeScript, among others.\nWorking in a very high-traffic environment (2.2 billion users per month, 100 billion events per day) with low latency and high availability constraints (2 million requests per second, responses in less than 150 milliseconds).\nManagement of large datasets with milliseconds order of magnitude access time, to compute in a near real-time complex auction resolution algorithm (18 million predictions per second).\nA fast-changing environment where we continuously collaborate with Product teams and constantly adapt our Cloud infrastructure for new features and Products.\nBring a wide diversity of profiles to the same level of quality and knowledge\nWork in an international environment with offices located in Israel, Slovenia and France.\nTeam Overview \nThe DR-Delivery team is in charge of ad serving: the backend systems that decide which ads get delivered, where, and how budgets are spent. The team also owns a platform that runs and manages ML models, which makes it a place where classic high-scale backend work meets machine learning.\nOur systems run at high scale with strict latency and availability requirements, and their output reaches publishers and advertisers around the world. The team is made up of strong, experienced engineers who own their systems end-to-end, from design to production, and we are looking for a junior engineer to grow alongside them. We are a hybrid team split between Ljubljana and Israel, so you'll work closely with colleagues across both sites.\nWhy Join Our Team?\nReal impact: you'll work on production systems that serve ads at scale, and your changes will be visible in delivery and spend.\nLearn from strong engineers: you'll work daily with experienced engineers who care about code quality, reviews and sharing knowledge.\nScale and depth: high-traffic, low-latency systems, real-time data pipelines, and large datasets.\nGrowth: we invest in your development, with a path to take on progressively more ownership.\nBroad exposure: you'll work across serving, spend, data pipelines, ML infrastructure, and cross-team collaboration.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and maintain backend services that power ad delivery and spend, in Go, Java and Scala.\nWork with data systems such as MySQL, Kafka, HDFS and BigQuery to build, debug and analyze delivery flows and data pipelines.\nContribute to the backend platform that runs and manages ML models, and learn how ML systems are operated in production.\nTake ownership of small-to-medium features end-to-end: design, implementation, testing, deployment and monitoring.\nInvestigate and resolve delivery and spend issues in production, learning how to debug distributed systems with the help of senior teammates.\nWrite clean, well-tested code and take part in code reviews and technical discussions.\nCollaborate with Product, with other engineering teams, and with teammates across Ljubljana and Israel to deliver changes that improve delivery and campaign performance.\nParticipate in the team's on-call rotation after an onboarding period, with support from senior teammates.\nWhat will you bring to the team?\nB.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent training.\nSolid programming fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, OOP) and hands-on experience in at least one backend language. Go, Java or Scala is a plus.\nWorking knowledge of SQL and relational databases.\nCuriosity about how large-scale, high-traffic distributed systems work.\nAn ownership mindset: you take initiative, communicate proactively, and follow through.\nA willingness to learn, ask questions and embrace change.\nGood English communication skills\nBonus Points:1-2 years of hands-on backend experience.
