We have a large web and mail infrastructure physically located in three data centers across two European countries. Hundreds of servers, switches, cables, disks, petabytes of customer data, and someone has to keep all of it in order. You'll be the person who knows what's in which rack, what condition it's in, and what will need to be expanded or replaced in the near future.\nData centers and hardware\nWhen a batch of new servers arrives, you rack them, cable them, set up the network, and prepare them for installation.\n\nYou handle hardware problems: replacing disks, RAM, power supplies, and other components. For more complicated in-warranty repairs, a specialized technician can be requested to do the replacement.\n\nYou keep the racks and the office storage room in order: cables, server inventory, decommissioning, capacity planning.\n\nYou handle warranty claims and may eventually also communicate with data centers, hardware suppliers, and take part in audits.\n\nThe hardware part takes up roughly half of your working time, and may increase later.\n\nLinux infrastructure\nBeyond that, you'll be managing our internal and hosting Linux infrastructure.\n\nYou'll take part in improving and automating existing solutions, along with regular upgrades. Our infrastructure is built on the following technologies (don't worry, we don't expect you to know all of them): Ubuntu, LXD, Nginx, ZFS, MariaDB, Postfix, Dovecot, Kubernetes, Zabbix, and many more. It's a great opportunity to learn a wide range of technologies. We manage the infrastructure using the config management tools SaltStack and Ansible.\n\nThree to four times a month, you’re on-call for the infrastructure for the entire day. On that day, as the on-duty person, your primary job is resolving problems reported by our Zabbix monitoring or by colleagues. For serious problems, the monitoring alerts you directly on your phone. You step in and fix the issue, ideally so that it doesn't happen again. Don’t worry, if needed, the whole team is ready to help you get through an outage, even in the middle of the night.\n\nWhat we expect from you\nHands-on hardware experience: racking, cabling, replacing components, diagnosing hardware failures. You know the differences between RAID levels and are comfortable with IPMI/KVM.\n\nSeveral years of practical experience managing Linux servers, deploying software, monitoring, and upgrades at the command-line level.\n\nYou understand networking principles and technologies. Subnetting, configuring a network with static IP addresses, NAT, and firewalls are no problem for you.\n\nYou have experience with automation and scripting (IaC, Bash/Shell, Python...).\n\nYou approach problems analytically and come up with solutions.\n\nEnglish at B2 level or higher and a driving license, since you’ll travel to the data centers.\n\nBonus points\nExperience with enterprise server hardware (Dell, Supermicro, HPE) and data center environments (PSU, UPS, structured cabling, fiber optics...).\n\nCCNA courses and experience configuring Cisco/Dell/Juniper switches or similar enterprise systems.\n\nExamples of your own projects on Git or deployed in the cloud.\n\nWhat to expect from us\nSpace for yourself: We understand that everyone works differently. Máme veľkú webovú a mailovú infraštruktúru, ktorá sa fyzicky nachádza v troch datacentrách, v dvoch krajinách Európy. Stovky serverov, switche, káble, disky, petabajty zákazníckych dát, a to všetko musí niekto držať v poriadku. Ty budeš ten človek, ktorý vie, čo je v ktorom racku, v akom je to stave a čo bude treba v blízkej dobe rozšíriť alebo vymeniť.\nDatacentrá a hardware\nKeď príde várka nových serverov, zarackuješ ich, pozapájaš, nastavíš network a pripravíš na inštaláciu.\n\nRiešiš HW problémy - výmena diskov, RAM, zdrojov a iné komponenty. V prípade komplikovanejších opráv v záruke, je možné požiadať o výmenu špecializovaným technikom.\n\nStaráš sa o poriadok v rackoch a v sklade - káblový management, evidencia serverov, vyraďovanie, kapacitné plánovanie.\n\nRiešiš reklamácie a eventuálne budeš komunikovať aj s datacentrami a dodávateľmi hardware-u, audity.\n\nHardwarová časť zaberie približne 1/2 pracovného času, neskôr sa môže navyšovať.\n\nSpráva Linuxovej infraštruktúry\nOkrem toho sa budeš venovať správe našej internej a hostingovej Linux infraštruktúry.\n\nBudeš sa podieľať na vylepšovaní a automatizovaní existujúcich riešení, spolu s pravidelnými upgradmi. Infraštruktúru máme postavenú aj na nasledujúcich technológiách (neboj, neočakávame, že budeš poznať všetky): Ubuntu, LXD, Nginx, ZFS, MariaDB, Postfix, Dovecot, Kubernetes, Zabbix a plno ďalších. Je to skvelá príležitosť priučiť sa širokému spektru technológií. Infraštruktúru spravujeme pomocou config managementu SaltStack a Ansible.\n\n3 až 4-krát do mesiaca máš celodenný dohľad nad celou infraštruktúrou. V tento deň je primárna náplň tvojej práce riešenie problémov, ktoré reportuje náš monitoring Zabbix alebo ti nahlásia kolegovia ako on-duty človeku Monitoring ťa pri závažných problémoch upozorní priamo na mobil, ty zasiahneš a vyriešiš problém, najlepšie tak, aby sa už neopakoval. Nemusíš sa báť, v prípade potreby sme ti v celom tíme pripravení pomôcť ťahať hoc aj nočný výpadok.\n\nOčakávame od teba\nPraktické skúsenosti s hardwarom - rackovanie, zapájanie, výmena komponentov, diagnostika HW porúch. Poznáš rozdiely medzi RAID levelmi a pohybuješ sa v IPMI/KVM.\n\nNiekoľkoročné praktické skúsenosti so správou Linuxových servov, nasadzovaním softvéru, monitoringu a následnými upgradmi na úrovni príkazového riadku.\n\nRozumieš sieťovým princípom a technológiám. Nerobí ti problém subnetting, konfigurovanie vlastnej siete pomocou statických IP adries, NAT, Firewall.\n\nMáš skúsenosti s automatizáciou a skriptovaním (IaC, Bash/Shell, Python...).\n\nDokážeš analyticky riešiť problémy a prísť s riešením.\n\nAngličtina na úrovni aspoň B2 a vodičský preukaz, kvôli datacentrám.\n\nPlusové bodíky\nSkúsenosti s enterprise serverovým HW (Dell, Supermicro, HPE) a datacentrovým prostredím (PSU, UPS, štruktúrovaná kabeláž, optika...)\n\nKurzy CCNA a skúsenosti s konfiguráciou switchov Cisco/Dell/Juniper alebo obdobné enterprise systémy.\n\nUkážky vlastných projekty v gite alebo nasadených v cloude.\n\nOčakávaj od nás\nPriestor pre seba: Rozumieme, že každý funguje inak.
