Our award-winning practice has studios in Manchester, London, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dublin.\nRequirements\nWe are looking for an experienced Associate Civil Engineer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Engineer to take a leading role in the delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK, including residential, education, commercial, development and regeneration projects.\nAs an Associate, you will lead teams of engineers and technicians, oversee the successful delivery of multiple projects, and work closely with senior colleagues to support business growth, team development and strategic planning. You will collaborate with public and private sector clients, multidisciplinary teams and industry partners to deliver high-quality engineering solutions that create positive outcomes for communities and the built environment.\nAlongside project delivery, you will play an important role in developing client relationships, identifying new opportunities and supporting the continued growth of the business.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical Leadership\nLead the delivery of civil engineering design across a range of projects and sectors.\nIdentify project challenges and opportunities, guiding teams to develop effective and innovative solutions.\nCoordinate and review high-quality technical drawings, reports, calculations and presentations.\nUndertake technical reviews and quality assurance checks on your own work and the work of others.\nOversee the preparation and presentation of technical information and project documentation.\nEnsure the effective use of relevant engineering analysis, modelling and design software.\nConduct internal project reviews and contribute to technical excellence across the wider team.\nEnsure compliance with CDM Regulations 2015 and the company's Quality Management System (QMS).\nProject and Team Management\nManage multiple projects concurrently, overseeing programmes, deliverables, resources and project fees.\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.\nMonitor project progress and effectively manage project changes throughout the project lifecycle.\nPlan and allocate resources to ensure successful and efficient project delivery.\nLead, mentor and support the development of engineers and technicians.\nContribute to wider team development through knowledge-sharing activities, presentations and training initiatives.\nMaintain strong commercial awareness and support the financial performance of projects.\nContribute to business planning, project forecasting and strategic discussions.\nBusiness Development\nSupport business development activities within the team and across the wider business.\nDevelop and maintain strong relationships with clients, collaborators and industry contacts.\nIdentify potential opportunities and work with Directors and Associate Directors to pursue new business.\nRepresent the business at client meetings, networking events and industry forums.\nPrepare and contribute to bids, tenders and fee proposals.\nPromote the wider services of the practice and support cross-disciplinary collaboration.\nHelp build long-term client relationships through excellent project delivery and communication.\nProfessional Commitment\nDemonstrate professional excellence through Chartered Engineer status and ongoing professional development.\nParticipate in CPD activities, technical presentations and knowledge-sharing opportunities.\nMaintain an active CPD record and Development Action Plan.\nAct as a role model for company values and contribute positively to the culture and success of the practice.\nQualifications and Experience\nDegree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.\nChartered Engineer status with the ICE.\nSignificant experience within a civil engineering consultancy environment.\nExperience delivering infrastructure and built environment projects across a range of sectors and project scales.\nProven experience leading teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.\nExperience building client relationships and contributing to business development activities.\nCompetencies\nExcellent written, verbal and presentation skills.\nStrong technical report writing abilities.\nExcellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.\nStrong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.\nEffective graphical and visual communication skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.\nExperience using relevant civil engineering software such as Civils 3D and other industry-standard design and modelling packages.\nGood commercial and contractual awareness.\nStrong team leadership, mentoring and people management skills.\nExcellent organisational and time management abilities.\nAn established professional network and the ability to develop trusted client relationships.\nOur Values\n· Be Collaborative - Engage with other and collaborate positively\n· Be Curious - Master your current role, seek and share knowledge and expertise\n· Be Helpful - Demonstrate professionalism, willingly take on new responsibilities without necessarily being asked\n· Be Passionate - Take ownership of your role and support others to achieve success in theirs\n· Be Ingenious - Find ways to get results by adapting and innovating\nBenefits\nA fair and competitive salary, taking into consideration market rates and your experience level\nFlexibility.
