Our division is comprised of leading student affairs experts who support our campus on pressing student life matters including public service, health, wellbeing, connection and belonging, residential living, food services, sports, recreation, career services, and student activities and organizations including sorority and fraternity life. We provide support and services to roughly 25,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students on multiple campuses in the U.S. and abroad.

University Career Development (UCD) www.career.cornell.edu is under Cornell's Division of Student and Campus Life and part of the Cornell Career Network. Our comprehensive services are open to all students and alumni, and complement the services offered through career offices in the undergraduate colleges that are tailored to more college-specific academic and career goals.

The Cornell Career Network is a collaborative, campus-wide ecosystem that helps students explore options, refine goals, and build skills and connections for success. Career development is coordinated through a hybrid model led by University Career Development, which oversees strategic planning and operations. The UCD team strategically leads a “One Cornell” approach to employer engagement, advising and education, with services and initiatives conducted in partnership with college and school-based teams across the university.

This role serves as a Data and Systems Specialist within the Career Network, supporting both technical infrastructure and analytical needs. This position manages critical career technologies/platforms, oversees user access and onboarding processes in Handshake, and ensures system reliability across the Network. As a data leader, this individual will help drive high-quality data collection, governance, reporting, and analysis across multiple platforms-ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to data security and confidentiality standards.

  • Possess a strong attention for detail, excellent organizational and time management skills, as well a proactive approach in order to manage multiple, competing priorities/projects

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required with up to 2 years of related experience in managing data, data analytics, operations or an equivalent combination of experience and education is also acceptable
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and working with large datasets
  • Fluency in standard software including Microsoft Office suite, reporting applications, data cleaning and analysis
  • Familiarity with Tableau or Power BI
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information, display sound judgement and ethics
  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Experience modeling values that support inclusion, belonging, and wellbeing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field: data analytics, data management, etc.
  • Data analysis experience in a higher education setting
