You will take full ownership of application data across assigned payment systems: defining quality standards, maintaining metadata, and ensuring data is properly governed, documented, and fully compliant with regulatory and audit requirements throughout its lifecycle.\nAs a Senior Data Governance Specialist, you will hold real decision-making authority, including reviewing and approving changes to data models and definitions. Working closely with business stakeholders, architects, analysts, and engineering teams, you will shape data structures, integrations, and regulatory reporting while establishing robust governance practices across the Payments area.\nKey Responsibilities:\nOwn data definitions, quality standards, and metadata within assigned payment applications\nDefine, document, and maintain business data models, data dictionaries, and critical data elements\nEnsure data is managed in line with governance standards, regulatory requirements and architectural principles\nIdentify and resolve data quality issues, including root-cause analysis and remediation\nSupport data lineage documentation and traceability of critical payment data flows across systems\nReview and approve changes to application data models, data definitions and information assets\nCollaborate with business stakeholders, architects, analysts and developers; take part in initiatives affecting data structures, integrations and regulatory reporting\nSupport audits and regulatory reviews, and help establish data governance practices, controls and ownership models within Payments\nWhat We Expect\nMust-have:\nProven hands-on experience in banking payments and its nuances\nExpert SQL - querying, scripting, and in-depth table and database analysis come as naturally as a second native language\nPractical experience with data models, data dictionaries, metadata, and data quality management\nExperience with data lineage and supporting audits or regulatory reviews\nStrong collaboration with business and technical stakeholders\nBased in Estonia, Latvia, or Lithuania, able to work on-site three days a week\nNice-to-have:\nExperience setting up data governance frameworks, controls or ownership models\nMentoring experience\nWhat’s in it for you:\nReal ownership and approval rights over payment data at one of the region’s largest banks\n B2B contract, competitive senior hourly rate\nLocation: Estonia, Latvia, or Lithuania, hybrid(three days a week in the office)\nInterview Process:\n1.
