This is a foundational, individual-contributor role: you take full ownership of payroll company-wide, standardize the process, and build the function as the company scales into new countries. You report to the Head of Finance and work daily with Legal, HR, and Finance.\nKey Responsibilities:\nOwn end-to-end payroll processing for the Latvia entity, plus oversight of outsourced payroll in the UK and Poland\nOwn the B2B/contractor payment cycle globally, including crypto (USDT) settlement, as a distinct process from employee payroll\nEnsure payroll compliance with Latvian labor law, tax withholding, and social security obligations\nReview and quality-check payroll calculations prepared by the outsourced UK and Poland providers\nPartner with Legal and HR on employment terms, cross-border considerations, and worker classification (employee vs. B2B contractor)\nPartner with Finance on payroll cost accounting, accruals, and reconciliation to the general ledger\nOwn the payroll system(s)/HRIS: selection, implementation, and administration\nAdminister benefits tied to payroll (medical insurance, L&D budget, etc.)\nOwn payroll data privacy and security in line with GDPR\nEnsure accurate, on-time payroll runs every cycle, no exceptions\nWhat We Expect\nMust-have:\nProven payroll management experience, ideally across more than one country\nExperience with both direct employee payroll and B2B/contractor payment structures\nComfortable managing and reviewing the work of outsourced payroll providers\nFluent in English and Latvian\nHigh ownership and autonomy: this is an individual-contributor role from day one\nNice-to-have:\nExperience in fintech, crypto, or another fast-growing company\nExperience with UK and/or Polish payroll\nRussian language\nFamiliarity with payroll/EOR platforms (e.g., Deel, Remote, Rippling)\nWhat's in it for you:\nA founding opportunity: build the payroll function from the ground up and own it end-to-end, across jurisdictions, as the company scales\nSalary: €2,500 gross/month, performance-based bonus\nMedical insurance, L&D budget, English classes, regular team-building activities\nA fast-paced, self-funded fintech company with no investor-driven pressure\nInterview Process:\n1.
