We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Controller to join our Finance team and help lead the financial operations of a growing, multi-entity organization.\nReporting directly to the VP of Finance, this role owns the month-end and quarter-end close process while delivering meaningful financial reporting, analysis, and process improvements that support strategic decision-making across the business.\nWe’re looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting expertise with curiosity, initiative, and a genuine interest in automation, systems, and the future of finance.\nWhat You’ll Do\nFinancial Reporting & Period-End Close\nLead monthly and quarterly close processes across multiple entities\nReview reconciliations and maintain general ledger integrity\nPrepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis\nExecute consolidation entries and support reporting accuracy across all entities\nMaintain and improve close schedules, reporting workflows, and accounting processes\nFinancial Analysis & Budgeting\nSupport annual budgeting and forecasting processes\nPerform budget vs. actual analysis and investigate variances\nPrepare financial models and operational reporting for leadership\nMonitor overhead allocations, equipment costs, and capital expenditures\nMaintain weekly cash flow forecasting\nCompliance & Controls\nSupport lender reporting, covenant calculations, and surety reporting\nMaintain tax schedules and support regulatory filings\nAssist with internal controls, policy improvements, and process documentation\nMaintain chart of accounts consistency across entities\nAutomation & Process Improvement\nLead finance automation and AI initiatives from testing through implementation\nIdentify opportunities to improve reporting, reconciliation, and close efficiencies\nResearch emerging finance technologies and bring forward practical recommendations\nSupport cross-functional systems integration and process improvements\nWhat You’ll Bring\nCPA designation required\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field\n4-6 years of progressive accounting experience with ownership of month-end close\nExperience in construction, contracting, or project-based accounting preferred\nStrong understanding of GAAP and ASPE standards\nExperience preparing financial statements, reconciliations, and management reporting\nAdvanced Excel skills including pivot tables and financial modelling\nExperience with ERP/accounting systems; Spectrum experience is an asset\nStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills\nHigh attention to detail, organization, and accountability\nInterest in AI, automation, and process improvement within finance operations\nCompensation & Benefits\n$95,000-$115,000 annual salary based on experience\nDiscretionary bonus based on company performance and goal completion\n15 days paid time off (10 vacation + 5 sick days)\nExtended health, dental and vision after 90 days\nRRSP matching after 1 year\nKilometre reimbursement for personal vehicle usage\nCompany laptop provided\nHybrid flexibility may be available based on business needs\nWork Environment\nThis role is primarily office-based with a mix of independent work and cross-functional collaboration.
