We truly believe in the transformational benefits of education and vocational training and seek to lift the aspirations and skill bases of all New Zealanders.\n\nAt TEC, we connect with people, work together for success, do the right thing, and deliver service that matters every day.\n\nIf you are passionate about making systems run smarter so people can achieve more, we want to hear from you.\n\nHe angitūtanga: About the Role\n\nAs a Technical Operations Analyst, you will lift day‑to‑day ICT service performance while improving how we work through streamlining processes, strengthening BAU, and translating evolving business needs into a clear, prioritised backlog for future releases.\n\nKey responsibilities of the role include: \n\nKeep core services stable and performing, including contributing to critical incident response and meeting agreed service levels.\n\nRun the change/release cadence end‑to‑end by assessing impact, schedule effectively and completing post‑implementation reviews to safeguard BAU.\n\nMaintain clear, current operational knowledge to support procedures, knowledge base articles and ensure new/changed services are BAU‑\n\nSpot and deliver practical BAU improvements (automation, tooling and workflow optimisation).\n\nCoordinate product introductions and routine upkeep such as patches, upgrades and defect fixes.\n\nSupport change and user adoption, and help retire legacy systems through managing dependencies, data migration and business impacts.\n\nWork closely with internal teams and vendors to resolve issues, manage escalations and lift service quality.\n\nHe kōrero mōu: What we are looking for\n\nWe are looking for proactive operator who improves how things run, communicates clearly with technical and non-technical people, and makes change stick.\n\nTo be successful in this role you will have:\n\n3+ years' experience in enterprise IT operations/support.\n\nPractical ITSM know-how: incident, change and acceptance into service.\n\nExperience in the technical change and release processes, and supporting review functions\n\nComfortable engaging customers and vendors to turn needs into a prioritised backlog.\n\nProven at working with end users and business owners to improve service outcomes.\n\nStrong documentation skills: clear, plain language processes and configurations.\n\nUnderstanding of technology lifecycle management and decommissioning considerations.\n\nExperience supporting change/adoption for new or retained technologies.\n\nAwareness of information management, data quality and operational reporting.\n\nWe can appreciate that not all candidates will meet every single desired qualification.
