We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to play a key role in a critical DOD program - powering the platform that securely collects, analyzes, reports, and exchanges data from Transportation Security Equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of enterprise IT infrastructure supporting the customers platform, ensuring the stability, security, and availability of mission-critical systems through routine system administration, troubleshooting, and proactive corrective action. You will work closely with cybersecurity personnel, engineers, help desk staff, and government stakeholders to maintain a secure, high-performing operating environment - while collaborating alongside a highly technical team in a dynamic government setting.\nHybrid Remote: (Must have the ability to attend in person meetings Northern VA/DC Metro area)\nKey Responsibilities\n Administer, maintain, and support enterprise servers, operating systems, virtual environments, and associated infrastructure supporting the customers platform.\nPerform routine system administration tasks, including user account management, system monitoring, patch management, backups, and performance tuning.\nMaintain accurate system administration logs, operational documentation, and configuration records.\nMonitor system health, identify performance issues, and implement corrective actions to maximize system availability and efficiency.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, operating system, network, and application issues in high-volume, high-availability environments.\nUtilize established debugging tools, protocols, and diagnostic processes to isolate and resolve technical problems.\nRespond to customer-reported incidents and service requests, providing timely resolution and effective communication throughout the support process.\nCollaborate with cybersecurity personnel to implement security controls, apply security patches, and maintain compliance with government security requirements.\nSupport system upgrades, software deployments, maintenance activities, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.\nAssist with disaster recovery planning, backup validation, and system restoration activities.\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and configuration management records.\nParticipate in after-hours maintenance windows and provide on-call support as required.\nCompensation: - $75,000 - $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.\nRequirements\nBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.\nMinimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in systems administration.\nExperience conducting routine system administration activities and maintaining detailed system administration logs.\nExperience administering and troubleshooting enterprise IT infrastructure supporting high-volume, high-availability environments.\nDemonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across servers, operating systems, and supporting infrastructure.\nExperience utilizing system debugging tools, troubleshooting methodologies, and diagnostic processes.\nStrong understanding of Windows and/or Linux server administration.\nExperience with system monitoring, patch management, backup solutions, and performance optimization.\nExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nAbility to obtain Public Trust Security Clearance.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting the federal government customers. \nExperience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.\nFamiliarity with cloud infrastructure and hybrid environments.\nExperience with scripting or automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.\nKnowledge of cybersecurity best practices, vulnerability remediation, and secure system administration.\nIndustry certifications such as Microsoft, Red Hat, VMware, Security+, Server+, or comparable credentials are a plus.\nBenefits\nFounded in 1995 at the start of the dot-com revolution, TechFlow helped large commercial clients such as Dreamworks, Toshiba, MGM, and others modernize their business systems.
