The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring system availability, performance, security, and reliability while providing operational support for business-critical applications.\nKey Responsibilities\nInstall, configure, and maintain Linux/Unix operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE, AIX, Solaris).\nPerform server administration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.\nMonitor system performance, availability, and capacity planning.\nManage user accounts, permissions, file systems, and security policies.\nConfigure and maintain DNS, NFS, FTP, SSH, LDAP, and other infrastructure services.\nImplement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.\nAutomate administrative tasks using Shell scripting (Bash, Korn Shell, Python).\nManage storage, LVM, RAID, and server virtualization platforms.\nTroubleshoot hardware, OS, network, and application-related issues.\nSupport production, development, and testing environments.\nPerform vulnerability remediation and security hardening.\nPrepare system documentation, SOPs, and operational reports.\nWork closely with application, database, network, and cloud teams.\nRequired Skills\nStrong knowledge of Linux/Unix Administration.\nExperience with RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE, AIX, or Solaris.\nHands-on experience in Shell scripting (Bash/KSH).\nKnowledge of server performance tuning and troubleshooting.\nExperience with backup tools and disaster recovery.\nFamiliarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP).\nExperience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, Splunk, Prometheus, or Grafana.\nKnowledge of security hardening and compliance standards.\nExperience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).\nBasic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).\nPreferred Skills\nAutomation using Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Terraform.\nKnowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.\nExperience with DevOps and CI/CD tools.\nLinux certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, or LPIC.\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.\n8+ years of experience in Unix and Linux Administration.\nRelevant certifications are preferred.\nKey Competencies\nStrong troubleshooting and analytical skills.\nExcellent communication and teamwork.\nAbility to work in a 24x7 support environment.\nAbility to handle critical incidents and escalations.\nKeywords: Linux Administration, Unix Administration, RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, AIX, Solaris, Shell Scripting, Ansible, VMware, AWS, Azure, Troubleshooting, Monitoring, Security, Automation.\nDesign, test and certify patching solutions, patch catalogues and platform enhancements.
